the point was if you put a hole in a vertical flow radiator it will stop working and overheat immediately. whereas a horizontal flow radiator with a hole in the upper part of the core just may get you home. so like i said GM,Ford,Mercedes and all the rest went to horizontal radiators, it wasnt because of cost, it was because of airconditioning bigger motors and better efficiency.

Thanks for all the information guys I appreciate it all. After lots of consideration I have decided to order a "Desert Cooler" 4 core brass copper and steel radiator. I ordered it from "Chevy truck Classic Parts". Thanks to "Ogre", you are a powerful salesman, lol. Norm
