Very true G. It would probably only make it 4-5,000 miles before you started seeing smoke........

At least it's not a rice burner, or is it, after all they are pretty chummy with mitsubishi. I'm in the auto repair business and I've never seen anything from Dodge to brag about yet. When their new trucks were first making there appearance I just happened to pull up beside one at a red light, he kind of looked at me and my little 96 Blazer like we were 2nd class. Less than a block later we showed him who was second class and it wasn't us. As for GM needing to wake up I don't see the need just now, after all GM waited a few years to come out with a diesel that makes Dodges cummins look like a peon, so have faith all you truly diehard Chevy guys, it aint over yet.

If I had $15000 I would put SRT-10 Viper motor in my truck.
Yeah but I'm sure you could put that money towards a real CHEVY engine and have over 700HP. It's all about numbers. Just my 1 1/2 cents ( I'm Canadian)

Look at it again. The L pre-stages, then the SRT-10. The L stages, then if you look close you can see the stage light come on for the SRT-10 too.

It's not about the tree, it's about a modded Lightning, and a SRT-10 owner that can't drive his truck ...yet

Here is the Dodge boys response to that video with some extra added- WARNING EXPLICIT LYRICS INSIDE!

And we can't forget the Ford boys response to the Dodge response- Ford response

That wasn't a stock Lightning. It was modded quit a bit.
Actually I don't think I have ever seen a "stock" Lightning unless it was at the dealership...

lmao guys, that movie is hilarious, they deffinatly have too much time.....

Now what chev needs to do is drop one of their 383 strokers into a reg cab shortbox fleet or stepside, or hmm maybe a 502? naw, 572....... anything with 400+hp. Do up the handling a bit, and make it semi-affordable. (nothing is REALLY affordable in new cars...but u get the point. Then we can talk biz.

Last I heard, GM's duramax diesel was made by Isuzu. Now what was that you were saying about "rice"?

Were it not designed by Isuzu, it probably would have been something like the previous 6.2, 6.5 diesels proudly designed and built in the america to be horribly unreliable underachievers with designs that are more than 2 decades old. Cracked blocks, shattering piston skirts, crankshafts that snap in two parts, cracked heads i've seen it all having repaired vehicles with those engines. What's the point of having a diesel if it's only advantage over a gas engine is better mileage, and with that comes really expensive routine maintenance and poor reliability?

Did ya know that all chevy vans 97-2002 shipped here had 6.5 diesels, and a good deal of the 88-98 FS trucks? At the GM dealership where i work we consider it odd if there's not a single 6.5td Van having it's POS injection pump replaced under warranty with less than 100k miles on the clock every week. I'm only saying this because i think it's a step in the right direction, if you can't do it right yourself get someone who can to do it.

-Axle

btw. i own a 6.2 diesel Blazer and have been happy with it, but only because i perform routine service to it and it's still low mileage (170k).

Dude, you're sleeping. The Cummins has more torque and horsepower than the Duramax.

I have two Cummins trucks, an 02 and an 03.

Hey, people are buying them SRT-10's. I saw a red one down the street from where I live. The red ones look sweet over the black ones. I wonder how many colors will be available.
Darn I was not in my truck to chase him down.
