Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

Thanks for the motivation TJ...

Here is a close up of the lettering on the sail panels I picked up recently…

While looking these over yesterday, I noticed the screw holes were flared, so with a little persuasion from a small hammer I straightened them out… then while deciding what I wanted to do with the lettering… the proverbial light bulb lit up!
the following pic is the idea that made it's way to paper, once I printed out the pic… a little paint and it should turn out something like this…

Laterz Guyz and Galz...

Don,
Looks like you are about done the steering wheel. I'm no expert, but I have a section on my BLOG showing how I repaired mine. No epoxy on it yet though. Maybe what I've documented will help others who are interested. Take a look.

Neat idea on the sail panels, giving it your own custom personal touch.

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

While waiting for paint to dry, in this CRAZY Arkansas weather… 70 today Saturday forecast high is 26..., I hauled my Son's Nissan home to prepare for 5 Speed Tranny Swap… Some idiot shop towed it, approx 40 miles with the rear wheels on the ground, which in turn turned the automatic into garbage...

Here's some pics of the fun…

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

Hahahah been crazy warm here too!!
Only dipped to -40* a couple of times so far this year !!
Looks like January is going to slam us with the -60 freeze wave....

Good luck with the Nissan.
Metric is Ok, but little cars and trucks need little hands to work on them and that just is not me....

No compensation… Their Insurance company wanted us to pay Nissan to remove and tear down tranny, $500, and only if Nissan claimed the damage was due to the towing would they pay out… Decided to write it off considering he didn't want to pay Nissan $500 for a maybe…. One of our customers sold him a Nissan truck with a 5 speed for $250 and a small bit of tattoo work...

Your sail panels are really cool as is the two tone paint on the steering wheel.

We have plenty of ice everywhere, even canceled the church service today.
The power is still on so that is a huge plus for our part of the sticks.

I was planning on heading up your way last week but got side tracked getting things ready for the big freeze.

Take care and stay warm.

Stay Warm my Friends…

Guess I got lucky then, creeping cold this weekend, but managed to rake up all the leaves (large wheelie bin full), cut the grass possibly the last time this year, and managed to lose the front wheel off the mower.

Suspect we will have snow at some point, and after the first inch, the whole of the UK will come to a grinding halt.

Nice pic of your truck Don.

As mentioned on Skype, love the wheel too.

Thanks Guyz!!!

After a couple of days iced in, Arkansas doesn't have the equipment readily available to deal with these fun winter storms... I finally heard that F%#d revealed it's newest pony… Just thought I'd share...
