My computer has not been giving me any update status on some threads so I am trying to catch up.
Actually I had heard that. It's been rained on a few times and seems to not have done anything to it, but not saying it won't. But yeah where can I find a sealer or is there a recommended product?

It's all good man glad to see ya getting cathed up, how's the weather there man?

Re: 1977 Chevy C10 known as SharkBite

I know nothing about painting but I am sure you can get some sort of sealer at the parts store or just ask a bodyshop what they would recommend. I don't think it would absorb moisture all at once but more over time. I would just hate to see you do all that work and then see rust coming back through it.

On the weather front, it has been doing nothing but raining here for about the last week. I think the forecast for the next week is still nothing but rain. We shouldn't complain since last year we had a drought here. I would rather have the rain than not although my basement just took on some water a few days ago. All is good there now though.

Primer does absorb moisture, if you run it with primer only for a while you should sand it all off and make sure the metal is prepped and sealed before spraying final paint

Thanks for clearing that up hopped up!! Yeah I'm not going to paint it I just wanted to do the body work, but before I send it off to paint I should resand and prime it again correct?

Where can I get some sealer?

the best advise.. i say some fiber glass resin would make good sealer for body components. they sell the kits. its like a patch kit but id only do small bullet holes.

It won't "break down" but it'll start sanding the metal away if you keep at it now granted depending on how your paint it, there's parts on mine that is bare metal but I can still see a part that needs to be sanded so I do it. Biggest key to sanding is just take your time don't rush yourself if you have an electric sander use it, it will be your friend! If not I would suggest trying to buy one. Once your at bare metal and have your spots cleaned just make sure it feels smooth and if it does well ta-da your done! then you move onto the next spot.

Yeah, I need something to probably spray then.

I think the acrylic is typically only a paint don't know if they would make it a sealer I got on the google.com and did some searching and found out O'Riely's has some so we'll see what happen. It's actually made by Dupli-Color, so looks like I'll be giving it a shot here soon.

Re: 1977 Chevy C10 known as SharkBite

Well I hope everyone had a great and wonderful 4th of July, I know mine was probably the best on yet, got to spend it with family and friends.

Nothing done this weekend, it was a non-stop weekend and actually got to spend some time with my parents which is very rare as much as I am on the go. Hopefully work will be kind of slow and things slow down for the week and I'll try to get some work squeezed in when I can.

It's quite funny you ask that, I actually was at my gfs and she had an exhausting day at work, so.......I'm going to eat some food really fast and I'm going to see what I can get done before 11pm-midnight hopefully I can finish the big part and just leave the small middle pieces to do this weekend.

And it seems to never end, color sanding is the worse in my opinion but its usually easier to deal with because it means you are getting close.
