A woman coworker of mine sarcastically asked if she got a discount if she paid in full when paying her hospital bill. The office clerk said, actually yes and that they do charge more on all bills to offset those who don't pay.
Yep...and try and charge you for extras just to see if you will pay it.
My insurance covered a colonoscopy every 5 years for preventative medicine, I had it done and received a bill for $6k. When I questioned it, they said a polyp was removed so it was now a procedure. I simply asked to see a form that I personally signed approving the procedure....The bill went away.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Awfully quiet on this thread...everybody holed up for the cold and snow ?? We were in the upper 20's most of last week and even got to 38* on Thursday. Then that damned polar vortex had to come blasting down. Minus 11 degrees this morning again and it never got above zero.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Wife wanted a Tiffany (Chinese knockoff) lamp in the dining area, which I use for my carving hobby for climate control for this old man. IT'S FREAKIN' DARK IN HERE! She says we can send it back, but that's even more work. I gotta stop listening to my wife's hare-brained ideas.

If you want her to know you said that, you'll tell her yourself, right?

Hah! I did. I just got back from the hardware store with 6000 lumens worth of LED lights. Put them on top of the book case, and that's almost enough. Vast improvement!

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

18* below zero this morning...just waiting for Spring.
Just had a lower level room painted. I HATE painting and had started the process but with my deteriorated spine, the overhead work on a ladder was killing my shoulders and neck, so we, for the first time ever, hired 2 gals that have a local business to finish it. Looks great and the cost was very reasonable. We're already planning to have them paint a main level bathroom that is a dark chocolate brown. We will, eventually, have painted about 80% of the interior from what the PO's had.
Next for the newly painted room is new carpet and then I will start planning how to lay out a table set up for an American Flyer train I've had in boxes for too many years and dates back to when I was single digits of age.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I had to work on the Quad that I plow my driveway with. I thought it was just a dead battery. Turns out it was the PDM (Power Control Module). Not a bad job to do with some heat added to the garage. But the part set me back $669.00. So with the battery that it did need I just dumped $800 into a an 18 year old quad.

Sounds like good progress. Let's see the train when you take it back out.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Flooring will have to wait for a while now. I'm driving to Tucson with the Harley in tow. Hoping to get warm enough weather to ride down there, but they aren't much warmer than up here right now. Plan these events out and book air bnb's 10 months ahead and it's a real crapshoot.
When I was researching this, I looked up AZ for helmet laws and the state doesn't have a mandatory law. Found out later that the city of Tucson does. Only time I've worn a helmet for anything was during MN's brief helmet law period, which was repealed in 1977 and while on a drag strip. Taking my racing helmet with...

Don’t think that Tucson has a helmet law requiring all riders to wear helmets . That’s directly in contradiction to state law .Anyone under 18 are required helmet even as a passenger . I don’t believe a municipality can make their own V&T laws .

Where did you see they require it ?

That was my thought too, but the article I read on Tucson city regulations, seemed to indicate all riders had to wear a helmet. MN and WI both require them for under 18 too. I should call my friend in Green Valley. He has ridden motorcycle down there for years.

Been cleaning my shop. Cleaned up this little shelf above the door. Unfortunately a few bits and pieces have gone missing over the years. Long time members will know what this is about.

The first thing I recognize is the Chicken.

That the chicken that got sent to different members.

There was a thread about that.

Is there anything else I should remember?

Yeah he got sent to members all around the globe, but mostly USA. The signatures are really fading and the beak is starting to deteriorate. The black can is when he hit Australia and the blue and white card on the far right is from when he was in Afghanistan. Also made it to England and Canada. Don't remember if there were other countries.
