Re: What did you do to your truck today?
THANKS! That's 3 coats of primer, blocked and sanded. Then another coat of primer wet sanded with 600. Then 3 coats of base, that also had to be wet sanded with 600 to get some debris out. What you see is 4 coats of clear. We are real happy with it, very little debris in it and as deep as can be. We will also wet sand and buff that.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
picked up or ordered all the parts for the front end rebuild today except for the shocks.
The control arms and blasters will be at the blasters this week. The rest of the frame gets painted tomorrow. Should have the frame completed sans shocks in the next two weeks! My sons and I are getting stoked! Steven

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Finished cleaning up the ends to the control arm shafts and installed new zerk fittings.
I think they turned out great! Now, it's just a waiting game on getting back parts from the blasters and new parts coming in. Steven

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
I replaced the leaking flex hose and thermostat cover with new chrome ones. Replaced the thermostat while I was at it. That turned out looking pretty nice! See the old vs. new pic.
I also installed door jam switches and plan on putting in some under the dash "courtesy" lights next weekend.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
I had to take some waste oil to a drop off spot where the trash trucks go. There is also a scale there. I wanted to know the weight of my truck so I was able to see as I went over the scale..
It was 3940# with me in it. I figured with out me and the waste oil the weight is around 3700#.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Got the lower ball joints out with a loaner ball joint kit from A.Z. and an impact.
Found a different media blasting place much cheaper and BBB rated so I am going to have him do the backing plates, coils and a few other small parts as well. Dropping off Wed and picking up Sat. Way ahead of schedule for once! Also picked up part of the material for the door panels today on sale. Gotta find some lighter suede to get started on them. It's way too early for them but, it's getting dark quicker and I can work on these in the back room of the house. Steven

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Ball joints and tie rod ends came in yesterday. Dropped off even more parts to be blasted. They will be done Tuesday... a couple days behind but I can make up the time by going to the shop in the evenings to get them painted. Still plan to assemble the suspension next weekend.
