Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

Quick question Dave. There are two ports on the top of my tank, do I use one as a vent and plug the other? Or is there something else that secondary port should be used for?

Mine is the basic non-EFI tank with a top fill, sending unit port, and 2 vents. Thanks.

The fitting closest to the fill is the Vent and the other is a return if needed. Plug it off if you don't plan to use it. You can use the Nylon Plugs that we supply for shipping purposes since they are fuel resistant.

My tank came in today. Very nice, and very high quality workmanship!
I wish I could install it right away, but I have a long way to go.

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

Mine is a steel bed and I allready had the bed off so it was a real easy install. When the bed goes back on I will be cutting a hole in the bed and making a flush mount door in the floor to acces the filler cap.

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

How are you guys running the bedfill with these tanks? Most of the flush mount bed fillers are the marine 1 1/2" and the filler neck on the tank is 2 1/4"

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

I did not get mine through this offer but bought one and worked with them to move the mounting brackets up for my laid out 65 burban and still also use the factory fill tube. Carbed engine and went with pick up tube instead of gravity feed...

Hey guys. Anyone have any good pics they can post of how they plumbed the tank they bought from Boyd? Bought a grooup buy tank last year and looking to get my lines set-up. Any help would be appreciated.

Dave,

I bought this set-up shortly after I received my tank over 12 months ago only to later realize this must have been posted before you supplied a vent since the thread size on this is different than the vent thread size you supplied with the tank I received. I plan to plug my return opening since I don't need it, so my question is which vent is better - this vent from JEGS or the vent I received with the tank?

Thanks,
Shawn
