They fit perfectly with ZERO clearance issues. I have not tried any other headers... these were the first ones we used back in the beginning, and they fit like a glove... never was the need to try something else.

The centerline smoothie's front caps will not fit without having the rotor's nose cone machined down. Here's an old thread from the suspension forum where this same issue has been discussed: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...line+smoothies

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Any prices on the rear kit yet? I'm getting ready to make the leap. Might consider your rear kit instead of the KP 6-link.

Just a question from a rookie , Why did you use bag over axle ...everything i have reseached says not to do this because of the ride is bad . Everyone seems to say the bags should go before or after the axle ...or even the 6 link from KP .Pete

Re: 84 with a Dropmember

a got a ton of questions also.

what size tire can you run to lay out on that notch?
what gas tank is that?
how does the bag over axle set up ride?
if some one orders this kit from you will it come finished or in raw steel?
last but not least price?

Everything I've read on this says if using a bag-over-axle configuration, you need to use a 'rolling or tapered sleeve' style vs. 'dbl convoluted' bags for the correct ride.

Pete-

Where are you doing your research!? The internet!
I have always had great success (in ride quality and function) when using a tapered sleeve style bag on an over the axle configuration. The tapered sleeve and rolling sleeve are designed to be used this way, and ride exceptionally well. They have a lower load capacity than a double convoluted bag, making it unnecessary to lever.

The tapered and rolling sleeve bags are, IMO, the better way to go on the rear of a truck when using a four-link set-up. There is no need to lever the bag on a link bar, and they also package nicely.

This notch will allow the truck to lay with a 30" tall tire... if somebody is wanting to lay with a larger tire, I can make the notch to accomodate ANY size.

The gas tank in the picture is from Perfromance On-Line. Same one we used on the white 78.

The bag over axle set-up rides extremely well.

The kit comes in raw steel and a "complete kit" runs $1699. There is one difference in the production kit vs. the one in the pics... the link bars pictured have poly bushing, and the production kit utilizes chromoly kevlar injected rod ends at the axle, and the super pivot rod ends at the frame mount (the super pivot rod ends are also known as "johnny joints" they are basically a hybrid between a poly bushing and a heim/uniball).
