Re: Bazooka's 63 build thread.
Looking good man. I would like to get rid of my wheel and tire set up too. They are 15x10 front/15x12 rear. They need to go back to some one with a 4x4. The front hit the fenders, the back hits the fenders, etc. I am thinking about some 17" torq 2 style wheels.

Re: Bazooka's 63 build thread.
Havent posted anything latley and I'm going thru withdraws so thought I'd post some pics of some goodies..plus I didnt have any pics on this page and Joe says thats not allowed I'm hoping alot gets done on the truck in the next 2 - 3 weeks...
I got myself a new wiring harness from Rebel Wire. http://www.rebel-wire.com/ I also picked up a gauge harness from them as well.. Along with the above electrical stuff I bought a "New System" from MAD Electrical http://www.madelectrical.com to finish off my complete new electrical system.. This is a very good setup A set of Autometer traditional chrome gauges and a gauge panel that i picked up from fellow board member scotts62 ( money is in the mail bud ). I'm going to paint that white to match my interior for now.. I will also be running a chrome column mounted tach for that 60s look im going for..I'm thinking about picking up a Mooneyes white steering wheel as well. Re: Bazooka's 63 build thread.
Thats a SD raised crossmember. The logo is a "t" and "b" in one. Stands for Thorbecke Bros. Thats what I'm thinkin anyway..

Re: Bazooka's 63 build thread.
Actually the wires from the switchbox run into this box on one side. Simple to wire with the screw terminals.. just one wire from each valve to the box.. Then a power wire and a ground. Your good to go.. Even has a valet key on the side so you can disable the switchbox...If you want to wire it to a car alarm to pancake when the alarm goes off it has a input for that too.

Re: Bazooka's 63 build thread.
couple weeks ago the stock brackets were being cut off the rearend. The pinion yoke was pointing down towards the ground and water was leaking out!! Crap! The guy doing the work pulled off the cover it was nasty inside real rusty and the gear oil looked like mud. The ring and pinion had grooves wore into them. The guy doing the work said he has never seen one that looked that bad. After looking it over he found that the stock vent setup had been removed at somepoint so there was just a open hole. Thats how the water got in..
Sooooo I had to spend another $300 bucks at summit.. New Richmond 3:73 Gears and Mega install kit |
