Re: 67/72 K20 Rusty build
not sure what you mean...the lil rod that connects the 2 (that has been welded once)U shaped is about 2 1/8 in. the pivot in the ****er to the hole for the u shaped interconnect rod is 3 1/2 inches
sounds like u are missing some of the parts.... the T221 is on the drivers side plus if you notice my shift rod is pointing forward i think it is because the SM420 has reverse to the left of second and the shifters might interfere (my guess)

Re: 67/72 K20 Rusty build
An update. So I bought and parted a 79 k20 and moved the axles under mine. by bye eaton! still a 3/4 ton FF int he back, but I get disc front brakes and steering stabilizer! Need to convert to maual hubs though since I'm keeping the Timkin. I also did the raised steering arm, and add a leafs for another inch of lift. The front is painted now, and I'm working on another set of doors.

Re: 67/72 K20 Rusty build
I've been driving the truck everyday mostly. I made soem new seat moutns to raise it a bit higher, played with the timing, and have found my power steering box wants to unbolt slowly on its own which makes it wander like a drunken sailor. I've rebuilt the carb on the 70 gmc I bought, so I'm going to start driving that and MAter goes abck under the knife. I've alreayd sourced a divorced np205, so I can use a more common 2wd overdrive (either 200-4r or 700r4; not sold yet either way). I'm also nearly done with the new doors, which will not only be straight and rust free, but all new rubber and such. I'm going to weld in the power steering reinforcement plate you can get for these, since I was using spacers to make up for the fact that I don't have the dimpled power steering box mounts. I have new steering lines while I'm at it. If you guys are like me, you liek pictures not talk, so I'll get some up!

Re: 67/72 K20 Rusty build
Truck now has the passenger door done although this pic is without any glass or mirror and I'd have the other door and front axle done if i hadn't started working on a buddies cab.

looks awesome - especially all one color! I usually prefer the chevy fronts, but yours looks good as a I guess it won't matter much with a big plow on it!

Re: 67/72 K20 Rusty build
i now have a rust free and perfect 67 chevy hood, so i'm debating on putting the 67 hood with new chevrolet letters on (but keeping the GMC grill and fenders). Thoughts?
the front leafs are from a Superduty, so they are super duty add a leafs. I almost wish the back sat a bit lower, but I doubt I'll chaneg anything.

Re: 67/72 K20 Rusty build

Re: 67/72 K20 Rusty build
I still have the original 67 grill so what I need is a good core support. May cut up the GMC core to fix the 67. Always liked the 67 Chevy AND that's what it is......

Re: 67/72 K20 Rusty build
i think all you need to do is remove the single headlight buckets off the chevy core and spot them onto the GMC.... i have a couple donors around i could send ya some pieces if u wanna pay for the shipping..the town is on my ass for having an "unauthorized" junkyard...lol

Re: 67/72 K20 Rusty build
Glimmertwin01 u r in deep on That blazer! Keep it up.
I'd love pics of a decent core but since I've repaired the GMC I may use the cups from the original core and spit them as u say. Might even justify all New chrome. I've read my GMC fenders are the same as 67-68 Chevy so I can keep them. Its Also staying black for now: I'm cheap and its mY daily driver

Re: 67/72 K20 Rusty build
So, having athree day weekend I took some "me" time and did some much needed maintanence on the big boy. What started as repairing a front u joint that had lost all the needle bearings one 2 of the caps, turned into front wheel bearings, tie rod ends, u joints, and premium Warn manual hubs. I also did back shoes, and new parking brake cables, installed the parking break foot pedal, and FINALLY welded 1.75" into my front axle shaft and actually have fully functional 4wd!
