My intent was to put it in the door. The kit I bought came with the wrong size latches and I haven't gotten the correct ones back yet so I haven't really planned that part out yet. Do you happen to have any photos of the bracing you added? I still need to put some bracing in the door jamb on the cab so some of it is likely coming from there as well.

Here is the best pic i have. I think that the door could prob. use a little more around the bottom hinge but oh well. I was just asking about the latch because if you plan on one piece windows you have to watch out for clearance on the front part of the door. There is only like 1/8th inch clearance. That's why I put my latch on the jam and the pin on the door.

Thanks for the heads up but I am not going to swap to one piece windows. They look nice but are a little pricy.

How thick is the metal you braced the door with? I have used 16ga for all of mine so far. I know some have used 1/8" but that will be tricky to weld onto the thin door skin.

great start you have on the truck so far, i really like the direction you are going with this build. especially the suicide doors, i really want them on mine, but thewife does not, guess who wins, LOL.

I have been having problems getting the right latches/install kit from the guys I ordered the kit from. They are supposed to be sending the right parts out today. I hope to be able to finish up the passenger door before the end of the month.

Looking good. Does it lay flat on the frame or do you still have something hold you up? Can't really tell.

With the 22's up front it is up about a 1/2". The back would lay the bumper on the ground if it had one but I left jack stands in the back to keep it level. I could cut the lower arms to recess the bag some but then I am not sure I could get enough lift to clear the wheels. I guess I could always try it, and if it doesn't work out just plate it back up.

I wouldn't worry about it. Laying frame is over rated. Whatever you do I wouldn't let it sit lower in the back when it's laid out.

Yeah as long as it's body dropped and touching the ground, laying frame is over rated. LOL! Just kidding. I like what you did with the front well opening, think I'll do it on my Suburban.

I am very impressed with all the mods you have done with your truck. I love the fender trick especially. How difficult was it to raise the bed floor?

I also noticed that all the pictures were taken outside, and it looks like you don't have a garage. If you're doing all of this stuff out in the weather, then you are truly a maniac! Keep posting pictures!!

Did you have to change your steering any after the front Z, or have you gotten that far along yet? I've seen threads where people did a mild Z and didn't have to change the steering, but didn't know if 1 7/8" was the magic number or not...

Are your lower rear bars from SD as well?

This is a sweet looking build. I love the fender mods, and totally dig how you kept/raised the rear bed floor.

Raising the bed floor was pretty easy. Just unbolt it, raise it up, and weld it back in. I went ahead and sectioned the rear fenders so they would fit back in and keep the "stock" appearance.

You are right, I don't have a garage so I am at the mercy of the weather.

I haven't gotten to the steering yet. It looks like I may be able to just put a small notch in the upper arm but I don't know for sure yet. The rear set-up is a triangulated 4-link from SD.
