Re: 65 3/4 ton 4x4 buildup
Check out this link it might lead you to a vendor.
Not much progress on the truck, got the radiator in and built a bracket for the electric fan, and started plumbing the transmission. This spring I am going to paint the inside so I can wire it and get it running.

Re: 65 3/4 ton 4x4 buildup
Looks awesome but did you forget to take out the little rubber bumpers on the hood or was that on purpose?

They are not rubber anymore, welded in some 1/2" steel.

Re: 65 3/4 ton 4x4 buildup
I used the mid 80's Ford Van arm, just ground down the four indexing pins with a die grinder.

Re: 65 3/4 ton 4x4 buildup
Not quite ready to drive it yet but I will get some pics tonight. Put a SI alternator on it and now the truck won't turn off, have to pull the fuel pump fuse. I think pins 1 and 2 are swapped on the alt... well see. Electric fan would not kick on and it needs to be timed but all that is pretty minor in the grand scheme of things.

Re: 65 3/4 ton 4x4 buildup
Nice Work! I'm about to start doing a similar swap w/ my 65 GMC SWB on a 72 1/2 4x4 frame. How was your cab to distributor spacing? Would it have fit with an HEI? Any advice on the frame shortening? My 72 is a long bed.

Re: 65 3/4 ton 4x4 buildup
I think a HEI would fit without problems. As for frame shortening, it would easier to move the axel forward and cut off the back of the frame.

Couple windows in, wiring buttoned up, seats in, new weather stripping.
Oh got the exhaust done too.
