Re: baclay9's 83' SWB Build
Cool deal man. I appreciate it. By the way, the oil pan I got from you is way to shallow. I bet your buddy had a really short oil pump on his boat and had to have that pan custom made to clear the hull or something. Sooo, you are going to get a sandblasted and nicely painted pan back.

Re: baclay9's 83' SWB Build
I just pulled the one off the donor engine ad stuck it on there. It just has one small dent in it. I figure if someone is looking that close at my oil pan they have no life.

Re: baclay9's 83' SWB Build
Thanks man but the color is going bye, bye...
Scored this on CL yesterday for the BB conversion. Had to drive about 2 hours north of where I am working to pick it up but it is in great shape. Ready to bolt on. 750 Holley w/ vacuum secondaries. Electric Choke. By claypool782 at 2010-09-12 I also picked up these "spinners"(I guess that is what they are called) for my rallies. The caps need to be cleaned up but I can't decide if I am going to like the way they look. What do you guys think? By claypool782 at 2010-09-12 By claypool782 at 2010-09-12 |

Nice score!
I'm torn on the 3 bar spinners, I dig them, but they kinda scream "circa 1980" But if that's what your going for then your golden Posted via Mobile Device

Re: baclay9's 83' SWB Build
I think the spinners are cool. The great thing about them is if you get tired of them you can just throw on some regular centers, and swap back from time to time. 3r!c84 has them on his truck. Here is a pic of it.

Re: baclay9's 83' SWB Build
I am going to try and get my tires put on the rallies when I get home this time and we will see how it all looks when put together. I am just hoping I can get my caps to clean up as good as yours did Joe!

Re: baclay9's 83' SWB Build
Well, I got a little done over the last couple of days. It is finally off the Jack stands and on the ground. I had to buy a new tire due to one of the ones I had was separated. I hated to do it seeing how this setup is temporary but the Coys just aren't in the budget right now due to all the motor work I have to do.
Here are a couple of pics. I got the newly painted rallies on with the trim rings on but still haven't cleaned up the caps yet. I had the wheels blasted and then painted them with several coats of Rustoleum Proffesional "Stainless Steel". I got all the steering system on and started running the fuel lines and got the wiring harness on. I am going to get the rest of the lines in (brake, fuel) and the tanks painted up and on later this week. I will get some better pics then. After that it will be time to start on the 454 and tranny work. By claypool782 at 2010-09-21 By claypool782 at 2010-09-21 By claypool782 at 2010-09-21 More to come.... |

Re: baclay9's 83' SWB Build
Here is some more. I am pretty much done with this "phase" of my build. All the fuel lines are run and the brake lines are pretty much done. I have to replace the hard brake line that goes from the proportioning valve to the frame because I had to cut them to get them off.
I got the tanks put on and everything. As soon as I get the front hard brake ins replaced I am going to slap the motor mounts on. Here are a few more pics. Re: baclay9's 83' SWB Build
Sorry guys, I didn't mean to leave ya hangin like that. I got slammed at work right after typing that. LOL
I ordered a set of Boss 338's today. I got 2 18x9.5 and 2 18x8's. I supposedly got two of the last three 18x8's there are available according to Eagle. I am freaking pumped. I got called out in the middle of the night the other night so they threw a little extra cash my way. I knew exactly what to do with it Posted via Mobile Device |

Did you get gray? After you get them, I might need to come out and test fit those on the crew to see how I like the 18's Posted via Mobile Device
