"Pabst Blue Ribbon" SOLD..Now I need another.. Oregon dudes, Whos in?

I sold the Blue Ribbon a few weeks back.. Dont know why, I just got a wild hair up my ass and sold it.. I really needed the money for family purposes. But still I am really bummed I dont have my ride anymore. Luckly it went to a cool dude in Tacoma and I know he will take good care of it.

So now I am on a mission. I am really looking for a 4-5-6 long box I can start on. I might have one in mind. But I am reaching out to my Oregon Boys for some help in parts or maybe a shell of a truck. I am gonna build a rusty rat. I am gonna hold off bags for now and just try to find one I can get low and make a driver.. I am really trying to do this on the cheap, I mean real cheap..

To break my heart even more.. Here is a pic of my old baby last weekend at Billetproof. How heart wrenching but looking good.

Re: "Pabst Blue Ribbon" SOLD..Now I need another.. Oregon dudes, Whos in?

Here are a few pics of a 66 a friend of mine said I could have for $800.. 327, manual, manual, manual. But a great starter. I am thinking of leaving the patina alone and just swapping over to 5 or 6 lug and getting it lowered about 3 front 7 rear. I am now on a mission to find some donor half ton running gear.

Re: "Pabst Blue Ribbon" SOLD..Now I need another.. Oregon dudes, Whos in?

Thanks Van for the great words. Your a great dude, and I think we will be come great friends because of the sale.

It seems I thought I could live with out a 66 but I was wrong. So with that said, I am gonnna buy the one up top I posted a few pics of. Its a little ugly. But I have a nice 66 polished grill and a few other parts laying around still. I am going to get a few guys over here on a Sunday with some parts and donated time and see if we can get this ol long box to be on some half ton running gear, laying low and looking good. Leave the patina and throw some stripping on it.

Now I just need to come up with name for her. Also need to find some wheels and tires. Other then that should be set to go to get back into the scene again.

Nice.. I could be down with that.. I am planning on leaving it a LWB. I have had SWB and stepsides. But never a long box yet. But I do need 6 lug running gear and some six lug wheels and tires too very soon.

Re: "Pabst Blue Ribbon" SOLD..Now I need another.. Oregon dudes, Whos in?

Hey Ryan, I saw your truck last weekend as well.

My neighbor has a '66 GMC long bed. It was originally a custom cab, still has the v-6 and 4-speed. It needs quite a bit of cosmetic work but runs and drives. It is a half ton, 6 lug. I don't have a pic and I am not sure if neighbor wants to sell it but I'll let you know tomorrow if you are interested.

Re: "Pabst Blue Ribbon" SOLD..Now I need another.. Oregon dudes, Whos in?

Cort- Thanks for looking out.. That is why I love the Chevy truck world. We are always looking out for one another. Check out the one above. Its got a 327, four speed and the perfect patina. A little rust in the fenders(which is cool) for what I am doing. I talked to Jack and Jake(drop shop) and got some parts getting donated. I am doing this on the cheap. Putting this together for nothing or as little as possible. Its not gonna be bagged or sick like my 66 shortstep, but it will still be sick.

I am gonna have a bbq or something on a Sunday coming up and get a few guys over here to do a 6 lug swap over. Just need to find some steel wheels and some decent tires. Want to get about 2-3 drop up front and about 7 out back. Lay it low, make it driver so I can at least still hang with my boys. I feel so out of place right now.. I dont have ride to cruise other then my Harley.

Re: "Pabst Blue Ribbon" SOLD..Now I need another.. Oregon dudes, Whos in?

Whats up all,

Yeh, I'm the guy that bought Ryans totally awesome "66" Trad Rod. If any of you that have ever seen the PBR Trad Rod , you already know how freakin cool this truck is , inside and out. You can definitly tell that Ryan put his soul into this one...I came down from Tacoma to check it out after talking with Ryan on the phone a couple of times. When I got there the Trad was sittin pretty outside, sittin low and proud. Ryan came out and we started goin over the truck and bulls**tin, felt like I knew him for years...Totally cool dude. I know you guys have felt what I did when I first seen this sick truck. It was callin out to me, there was a connection...I was"nt leavin without..lol. Me and Ryan stuck the deal and hung out for awhile. As I was leaving I looked in the rear view and seen The Man (Ryan) standing in the road watchin the Trad as I rode out of site. I know what he felt...we all been there.
So, with all that, just wanted to say thanks Ryan..The PBR Trad will be well takin care of ,with some touches of my own...I'll be callin ya and comin on here for advice and updates. And hopefully meeting you guys sometime..If your ever up this way or live around Tacoma, give me a shout. Peace

By a half ton driveline, do you mean that whimpy one that everyone has problems with. Why not use the much better and heavier one that is typically in a 3/4 ton? I've seen lots of those in 1/2 tons.
