Re: Your 2011 Plans For Your 60-66?
My plans are to replace my worn out 3spd tranny with another one I have so I don't hear the clunkity clunk of first gear anymore. Next on the list is a static drop for the front to even things out a bit and upgrade my brakes.

Re: Your 2011 Plans For Your 60-66?
finish my lq4 swap, and finish the rough body work (it doesn't have to be 1 color, just don't want any holes in it). If I can get those done, maybe convert to power disc?

Re: Your 2011 Plans For Your 60-66?
Well, since the motor and trans are now in the frame rails, I plan on getting to move under its own power. Possibly drive it. I would like to make at least one of the Texas Goodguys shows with it this year...it won't be pretty to look at, but it will run and drive!

I hope to put a overdrive trans in and AC. The one thing I have to do is rebuild frontend and replace steering column.

Five years ago today (1/1/11), my beloved uncle pasted away. He had a 66 chevy truck when i was little and sold it over 25 years ago. It was always a dream to get the truck and lucky me I have a wonderful wife who bought the truck for me this morning on the anniversary of my Uncle Bernie's passing

Welcome to the forum. Great story, gotta love trucks with a family history. And a supportive wife to make it all happen. Very cool!

Plan is to register it so I can drive it legally for change. Then keep tinkering on it while keeping it driveable.

Re: Your 2011 Plans For Your 60-66?
I would just like to hear it run. Driving it would be a big plus. Acually driving any one of my trucks would be nice, although i will probably sell the 66.

Re: Your 2011 Plans For Your 60-66?
with any luck get my motor this weekend and have it installed in my 65 swb fleetside by monday and get my title processed so i have something to drive while i track down a new frame for my 92 silverado. after swapping everything to a new frame resume work on my 65 lwb. halfway through a th350 install. and in the middle of all this im building a 77 k5 blazer for a friend. once thats finished i get to start on his 85 k5 converting it to 2wd and getting it slammed. does it sound as overwhelming to you guys as it does to me?

Re: Your 2011 Plans For Your 60-66?
Gas tank in cab is full of rust, so, gonna replace with new and move it to the bed, maybe a fuel cell. Anyway, that's a must. It's already trashed one carb due to rust and junk, so it's as good as gone. Got a little wiring to do on the brake lights. Also want to prime the whole truck and do something with the interior. It's road worthy now, but just a few little things left to do.
