Re: Newtz '68 Burb
Well we got it fired up! In the video my wife says second try, but the first try we didnt even attempt because I realized the throttle linkage wasn't hooked up, so this was our actual first try. Just wanted to clear that up. haha

Re: Newtz '68 Burb
I'm jealous! Even when I suspected I had catastrophic engine issues, I would take the burb for a cruise around the block just to calm my nerves!

Awesome deal! Do you want me to move this over to the burb project forum, cuz I think it would fit better over there

Re: Newtz '68 Burb
So I went today and got it put in my name and registration up to date. It was on non op and no back fees! Yes! It had been on no op since 2002 so I was a little worried...

Re: Newtz '68 Burb
So this last weekend we got it running and Evanz67 went crazy on the tint and peeled it all off. Thanks pal! Had a little bit of a worry cause it wouldn't go into gear. No big thing, we pulled the cover and pulled the clutch pads away from the flywheel as they were a little stuck. Runs like a dream and shifts just as good. Over drive doesn't seem to work, but haven't researched it yet.
Ok, today the boy and I got the brakes working, got the oil pressure gauge working, new air filter installed, and thanks to a really good guy, got us some hubcaps! We even drove it into town to the auto parts store! Last edited by Newtz67; 04-27-2011 at 12:46 AM. |

Re: Newtz '68 Burb
So Johnny, after seeing all the work involved are you glad you stopped working on it? The owner before you must have had some old gas in that thing for a lot of years.... That gas tank was gone.
