Re: show us your interior

Ooh very nice Kid.

Hey Dan actually the dash was done with ppg global base/clear. Door panels and steering wheel too. Rest of the interior was done by the PO and appears to be a single stage enamel, like the exterior.

Thanks for the info. I don't know if you've read through some of the old pages in my thread but I did a reasonably decent dash restoration in two tone green (just rattle can stuff, but it came out nice) ...and I like it BUT, I bought a nice burgundy seat and I'm sorta thinking I should consider redoing it.

IF I do it'd be with colors like yours. I might only make the white an off white. But the red would definitely be like yours. It just looks great. Congrats!

Re: show us your interior

Hey Dan yes Ive seen your thread regarding the rattle can dash and frankly thats what gave me the confidence to tackle my dash repairs and get it painted. I was fully intending to rattle can it but then told a buddy of mine who owns a body shop and he said he would help me with the base/clear. I do really love how yours came out and especially like the colors.

Yes I also would have preferred to use Cameo white like I have on my wheels, but at the time, my buddy had this brighter white laying around the shop so I just deferred to his judgement. Plus it was free!

THere is something about this particular red that really pops. Its actually, if you can believe it, an Isuzu color. I prefer original colors but I do love this particular red on these old trucks.

I agree I like seeing every body's interiors, even if someone has unique idea's for storage or anything else for the inside of our cabs, they should make this thread a sticky.

Fantastic! My '54 is currently gutted and the cab is mounted on a rotisserie I fabricated. So I've got a blank canvas.

Is your headliner just carpet over cardboard? I've toyed with fabricating a one piece headliner from 22 ga steel or even fiberglass. I've never worked with fiberglass but it seems like it would be doable.

I bought a cheap fiberglass 1 piece headliner off of eBay and then added foam and carpet and material.

This was the first interior job I tried. I learned a ton.

Re: show us your interior

Just start a Photobucket account. Once you do that you can simply copy your img code and paste it into the text you type here. When you then "post" the photo shows up full size.
