Re: Some young guy with a 62 GMC
So youngster with a truck :-)..........
I do like the look of your GMC, the colors are great. Just in case you want to bag it someday I did a drop in Photo Shop for you to see it. Have fun.... Do they really say "eh" a lot in Canada?

Nice; I like the paint/hubcap combo a lot. (Count me as another fan of the stock ride height, too.)

Re: Some young guy with a 62 GMC
Really nice truck!!! I like the upgrades especially the bed rails. Don't take this the wrong way, I know your a young guy, but this is the way I remember trucks back in the late 60's and early 70's here in Georgia. Back then if you had a truck it was a work truck or a farm truck and a lot of them had bed rails. My paw paw had similar bed rails on a 69' chevy. Just a really cool upgrade. Keep up the good work eh!!

Re: Some young guy with a 62 GMC
Well... UPDATE! I just finished painting up my hubcaps in white and red... I know these aren't the original caps for a 62.. but since they are on my 62, i thought id paint em red on white. Also took a picture of Sampson (Thats my trucks name) out with my other ride! Ol' CNR 1392 Last edited by 62GMC305; 08-04-2014 at 11:13 PM. |

Re: Some young guy with a 62 GMC
Well..... I'm a Steam Locomotive Fireman as my part-time job at Fort Edmonton Park and i also volunteer at the Alberta Railway Museum. So i have the honour of working on CNR 1392 here and E.Y.&P. 107. 1392 is a 4-6-0 ten wheeler, built 1913 by the Montreal locomotive works for CNR, and 107 is a 2-6-2 Baldwin Prairie built in 1919 and brought up here as Edmonton Yukon and Pacific 107.

Re: Some young guy with a 62 GMC
[quote=62GMC305;6610427]Hey guys, so i have built that box for my truck! Built the frame from 2x4s and then covered it in barn wood from my great grandparents homestead. Really happy with how it turned out! I think it compliments the stock/ farm truck look Finished it off with a CNR Railway switch lock, adds a nice touch.
quote] Looks killer! How did you secure the box to the bed ?

Just used large lag screws and screwed the box onto the wood bed boards. |
