I pulled the tranny out of this and I don't have enough privileges yet to post in the For Sale section.
I think it's a 2speed Powerglide. The fluid that came out was nice and red and clear. I'd rather somebody use it that scrap it. $100? It's in North Hollywood 91601

Re: New guy with a 1964 GMC that knows nothing :)
That trans is a Chevy Powerglide with the adapter to bolt it to the GMC V6. That adapter and the flexplate are hard to find and sought after items. I would make sure you keep the flexplate with the adapter.
Just a FYI, you need to be a paid member to be able to post a for sale thread in the classifieds here on the forum.

Ugh. The flex plate and adapter are long gone. I'll keep the adapter off this tranny. I only have a double garage & no drive, so with such limited space I can't keep spares hanging around for long.

That's too bad. Having the flexplate makes the whole package worth more and easier to sell.

BTW, when you have really rare and obscure stuff that is pretty much non-existent now, maybe give more than a day or two notice before sending it to China, please???

Re: New guy with a 1964 GMC that knows nothing :)
Had a little spare time today so ran up to the local yards.
I found a 60-66 with offset towers so I assume that was a 292 so I got the drivers side tower. I also found a 68-72 with even mounted towers so I assumed that was a V8 truck. Here they are:

Re: New guy with a 1964 GMC that knows nothing :)
The '67-'72 mounts you got are for the small block in those years. They move the engine forward to the front set of holes. The drivers side '63-'66 mount you got is correct for all small blocks and the 230/250 I6 engines. There would be a mirror image one for the passenger side. It all depends on where you want to position the engine. If you choose the forward location, some of the '63-'66 factory parts will not work. They also need to be installed on the correct side for the factory parts to work. If you swap sides with them, that moves the engine forward slightly.

FWIW, I have extra '63-'66 SBC V8/small six mounts, and I need an offset 292 mount. Send me a PM if you're interested.
