Really liking your build, I was thinking earlier today that I might go with the white wagon wheels. May be cheaper and easier to find then the steelies.

Re: Low buck? More like no buck. The poor mans build.

Having issues with the way it runs, been messing with it today. I wanted to check the fuel pressure, but it requires a special adapter. $60 for a gauge I don't need but with the adapter. I would rather put a new pump in the tank that doesn't work and test it that way, that's $50. I did neither. I attempted to gather parts to make my own test port. I was unsuccessful. It was raining all day anyways, couldn't pull the tank. I put a high concentrate of Seafoam in the gas, maybe it will help. Had a grounding issue also so I added another battery cable from the battery to engine. Can't have too many grounds. I have to check for codes again, see if anything came up.

Re: Low buck? More like no buck. The poor mans build.

I pulled the passenger tank today. The rubber hose that connects the pump to the pickup was mush, so even if it did pump it wouldn't make it to the injectors. Tested the pump, it worked. Pulled apart the tank selector switch and cleaned the contacts, now it was getting power. Put a piece of fuel hose on the pump with some clamps and put it back in. Put it all back together and went to the gas station to put some gas in. The truck has two working tanks now, only cost me $3 for clamps and $9 for a strainer, the old one was toast. The gas gauge doesn't work the greatest (it's on the list) but it appears to register each tank. They both have about the same amount of gas in them right now. I have to test drive more to see if it runs differently on each tank to see if the other tank may have a problem.

Great progress, I have to drop both of mine also.

Re: Low buck? More like no buck. The poor mans build.

I was getting tired of seeing wires and an ugly cut hole so I made a radio delete plate. I was making pieces for my conversion van so I made it while I had everything out.

I touched up the paint around the plate so it looks better.

Re: Low buck? More like no buck. The poor mans build.

Finally got the damn thing running well. Had fuel leaking around the injector. Fixed that and it was back to running odd. Turns out the throttle body base gasket was leaking, found it with carb spray. Changed the regulator too as it came with the throttle body rebuild kit I had to buy. $30 fix for a long annoying problem.

Re: Low buck? More like no buck. The poor mans build.

I'm buying a house and wanted to have some extra cash on hand just in case I needed it.

If anyone's curious I sold it for a grand.

Re: Low buck? More like no buck. The poor mans build.

Thanks. It's been ten months but it's finally supposed to happen by the 23rd.

I did keep the one with the good body. I'll have to start a build thread on it when I start doing stuff to it.
