The floor will be about 5" higher than what the burb would have been. Not really a problem for me as i only plan on hauling ass with it. 👍👍👍

Re: 1966 Suburban...Sort of...Trailblazer SS SWAP

Ok, its been a while since i updated this thread. Thats because i havent done much, until recently. Went 3 weeks with no progress, then jumped on tieing in the rear sheet metal. I used 1" box tubing to tie everthing together, then skinned the framework with sheetmetal. Tubing is done, sheet metal is tacked together. At least its some sort of progress.....

I plan to use the tblazer steering from the firewall forward. I will either modify the stock column, or order an ididit. No pics as of yet, i have not done anything there yet, but will post pics when i do.

Re: 1966 Suburban...Sort of...Trailblazer SS SWAP

Well, since my burb didnt come with the fuel door, and wouldnt have lined up properly with the tblazer fill neck, i decided to perform a little surgery to get the tblazer fuel door on the burb. I spent way more time thinking than working, but im happy with the result.

Re: 1966 Suburban...Sort of...Trailblazer SS SWAP

I had a really productive holiday weekend... All of the sheet metal fab from the door to the back is complete. Im happy with the outcome. Again, this is just tacked in, will need a full weld soon, but i wanted to get all the thinking out of the way.

Re: 1966 Suburban...Sort of...Trailblazer SS SWAP

This thing is incredible. I've said for years that some of these auto makers should remake some of the older cars/trucks with the same body but all updated drivetrain and interior. This reminds me of that.
