How many sq ft of the rattle trap did you go through to do the top and bottom?

pretty sure 3- 25s will not do it considering the amount of sq footage in this things

Re: 1990 V2500 Suburban Build Thread

Day number two,

Got the engine and gas tank out. Changed the fuel pump and fuel sender.

Also made a bracket for the Gas pedal to bolt in. I also removed all the TBI wiring.

I removed the oem cross piece and put in a ORD unit and realized the ORD unit would not work with the oil pan I have but the oem one will. So I will stick with the oem one.

Re: 1990 V2500 Suburban Build Thread

I have decided to not put the LS3 in and instead install this engine. Of course I need to come up with another $60K for this engine.

Wow. This is amazing. You tear down, bodywork, paint, reassemble and LS swap your burb in the time it takes me to find a set of rear view mirrors looks incredible! Can't wait to see the finished product.

Re: 1990 V2500 Suburban Build Thread

Engine is finished and last Thursday I drove the Suburban from Provo, UT to So Cal to do the "break-in" of 640 miles. I am really happy with the set up. I have been tuning the transmission and have it almost done to my liking.

The LS3 E-Rod comes with everything, the wiring harness, the computer and the power center. It was real easy to install the wiring. The computer and the "power center" were a little tricky to find where to mount under the hood.

I guess the components are GM factory stuff? specifically the harness and power center?
.. I ask because I am doing a LS swap in my '86 and I am trying to use the factory underhood fuse box & harness from the donor truck. I was not able to get the whole vehicle

would you be willing to post pic(s) of the harness and power center by chance?

Re: 1990 V2500 Suburban Build Thread

Well since the last post I have driven the Suburban 30,000 miles and I can say the thing works great. I moved from So Cal to Utah and towed my enclosed car trailer behind the suburban every round trip.

I did lose overdrive with my 4L80E but I had one day left on the warranty for my transmission so it was rebuilt under warranty.

I have really dialed in the transmission and added the Dakota Digital cruise control and it made the long trips really nice to drive.
