Dragged this to buddy's house. Applied GM engine decals and test fitted the new Porterbuilt mount and bar.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I just got power steering installed on my '66 with a 250 6 cylinder, but I used a used pump, so this weekend I hope to replace that pump with a new one. Hopefully, that will correct the issue of not having power steering at idle.

Again, you scored big time, and I'd bet the components will happily surprise you as well!

I am a noob, so thanks for the heads up. From what I understand, a reverse pump will have a smooth pulley. But if I am reusing pulleys, how do I know that the pump I buy will be reverse pump? I guess when I get to that point, the parts computer at the store will tell me hopefully. Months away, though.

Finished assembling the bed after Line-X'ing the inside panels and the wood boards separate. Still need to drill out the tubs and carriage bolt them down

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you guys have a lot of fun work in the near future. Post up some pictures of the trucks and the shop when you get a chance. Good luck!

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Not so much what I did today, but over the summer. With colder weather moving in, I am pretty much done working on my truck for the year. I have managed to get quite a lot accomplished though and am pretty psyched to think that by next summer I should be driving it. I have all new brakes plumbed and added a new booster and master cylinder. I installed a new intake and carb and fired up the 350 for the first time. I was like a little kid at Christmas when I heard it come to life for the first time. (Really loud though with only the exhaust manifolds)! I have all the wiring fixed and all the lights and gauges work. I installed a new aluminum radiator, as well as new u-joints and a carrier bearing.

If I owned it, with that under-hood being such a BEAUTY and it not drivable yet, I'd get a friend to come lock down my hood and hide my keys--to keep me from being tempted to drive it ANYHOW! Nice work, rcg66.

It must have jumped in the bed when I wasn't looking. Can I keep it?

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Did the headlight relay upgrade today. Found some real nice relays along with a metal bar designed to hold up to 4 relays at Junkyard Barbie. Used threaded rivets to install a good portion of the items, pretty nice tool.

This is what I did FOR my truck today.

I scored an unbelievable deal on some old school aluminum slots. I can't wait to see them after I polish them. Here's a sample area.

Yes indeed. Right off of a bus. Needs a good sanding or better yet -sandblasting. I also scored an UNBELIEVABLE GMC hood. Wanna see? More pics of the shopping trip on my website - see signature.

That's a great score! Can't wait to see them polished up. I'd like some six lug slots
