Re: My 86 build

well I was not liking the look of my motor now that the tranny turned out so good, so I stripped the motor down again and painted it "again". I painted the block black like last time, but I left the heads and valve covers natural, I pulled the water pump off this time and painted the timing cover black as well along with the steam tube, and cleared over the whole thing....trust me it looks better! now I'm gonna paint the coil brackets cause they look bad.....

sweet square..I had an '81 SWB back in the day, wish I still did! You will love the motor. I have a 6.0 in my 05 with 180,000 miles and runs great. I drag 10K pounds behind it all the time and it pulls it just find..but needs overloads installed.

Thumbs up Re: My 86 build

Hey Mooser, now that is a sweet looking mill! What headers did you decide to go with if you don't mind me asking? Oh, I found the paint (Dupli "cast aluminum") you used and got myself 4 cans. Thanks again for being the test subject on that.

Man, that is a killer price for coated headers! My Hookers just came in today from Amazon and were $629 for coated. Camaro headers supposed to fit alright?

Re: My 86 build

Wow. Never came to this board very much. Glad I did, you've done a great job. Very impressed. Check out my build on ls1 tech.

http://ls1tech.com/forums/conversion...silverado.html

Having done the LS swap already, I can't tell you how much better it is over the old sbc.
