Looks Good! But you have to like that sort of thing!!! Never could get rid of it, if I had to sale it! I would have to find someone that has that type of mind set!

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
You all have some beautiful machines. Here's the '83 in it's still basic form.
I'd give my left "boy" not to have to deal with the smog laws here in the crazy state. It really makes investing in a nice motor, and *truck* for that matter, a waste of cash. I think that's what I miss most about my '72.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
Not really socialist here....unless you are the one making the laws. Like a bunch of places, I guess. For the most part, laws are made by the ones in power. If the suits that run the government all drove '83 Chevy Trucks, I'll bet we'd all be better off.
In any event, the way they run the smog laws here is truly stupid. Right now, I think they are up to exempting a 1973...maybe '74. I'm not sure. But I know it's not '83!!!! Here's my '72 that now lives with someone else in a smog-free environment.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
In California its 76 and older. but there are a few loopholes. Some Countys don't require smog checks. Or you can convert a deisel to gas. The deisel vehicles didn't require smog checks.

I am thinking about putting Line-X spray in bedliner in my bed. I have heard it is the best. What are some of your thoughts?

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
Linex is a good quality product. I have Rhino in my two trucks and my son has Rhino in his. There is nothing wrong with the Rhino brand, but some think it turns color too quick, due to UV rays. They all weather with use, but I run tonneau covers for the most part.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
Here is mine.
This is actually my first post on this board. I just picked the truck up last week. It is a decent starting point. It has a 93 350 block with 98 vortec heads and a decent cam. It has a th400 tranny as well. |

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
Thank you guys. No, I don't have any engine pics yet. (still trying to clean it up a bit before I start taking pics) I am going to be doing a lot of work on the drivetrain and suspension for a while. I need to get the back end down a bit. My goal is to be in the mid 12's with it. If I need to have a small shot to achieve it im not going to say no. This is my first time with a carbed sbc so I am trying to see what works well on these motors.
