Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
Should have plenty of pics by Monday.
Thanks Mike Yeah I'm pretty motivated now, just the kick in the butt I needed. My front dropmember will be here Monday so I should be able to make some good progress on the frame this month. Then that gives me all summer to finish the bodywork. Quote:

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
Thanks guys for all the positive feedback on the rendering. I am really excited since I got it. It was exactly what I needed to re-energize me. I showed my wife the rendering and she was like no wonder your in such a great mood She loved it too. I feel like I have made progress without really doing any work on the truck because after 3+ years I have finally nailed down the look I'm going for. Yeah I know it took me forever to figure it out but it will definitely be worth it.
Chad no worries my man, I know your joking lol. Besides I can't wait for you to hack up that stepper I have been hacking this truck up since the first day I got it with all the rust I had to cut out and fix. I started with a truck far from perfect but will hopefully be pretty close when I'm done. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
I just found your build thread and went through the last 12 or so pages and the first 5 or so. Skipped through a lot of the middle without really knowing why, but I'm guessing that was a good decision since I'm up to date on your current plan.
I probably skipped the page you talked about it, but did you ever get to drive the truck with the forward arms on it? I'm curious how they ride. Looking at getting a set for my 71. I'm loving the rendering and your new wheel choice! Can't wait to see more.

Thanks I hope it turns out as nice as the rendering.

I'm still at it, have to finish up tomorrow. Been working on it by myself the past two days so is taking a little longer than I had hoped. Just have to install the rear frame crossmembers, finish painting and bolt the trailing arms and lower shock bar on. I'm almost done and most of the labor work is done. Little teaser pic I took before I quit today. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
I am very happy with the dropmember kit. The install has been pretty straightforward and the kit is very well engineered. Money well spent. Just wish my father was feeling better and was able to help me out. I really got bogged down getting all the factory crossmembers out and those pesky rivets. Has been smooth sailing since then. I will post up all the pics I took to tomorrow after it is finished.
