Re: Got Rust?
Not much progress lately, but I did stop by my painter's place the other day and he was just finishing up a project that he has been on for 3 years, so I thought I would share some pics. This guy does some incredible work.

Re: Got Rust?
Yeah I know, but right now I'm trying to make some room and get rid of stuff. It's amazing how big these trucks are when you have the top, tub, engine and frame scattered all over the shop. Hopefully some progress this weekend.

Re: Got Rust?
Ok Kurt, here you go. No forward progress lately, but I can't work in a trashed shop so this is what I did this weekend. I think I may have some time to get something done in a constructive way tomorrow.
I hope my garbage man isn't a Gen 1 Blazer fan, if so I may see some tears.

Re: Got Rust?
That is one stunning hot rod! Any more info? Was it built for a local customer? Despite being a Ford , I'm lovin' that Cobra lump with the three deuces and the nice, clean job on the instrument panel. I'm not that fond of the ultra-slick, techno-geek look that many builders are turning out these days. This one is just right. Thx for sharing the pics!

Re: Got Rust?
Thanks, I'm actually fired up to go out and work on it now...next step is to get the frame and axles ready to take to Media Blast, and then I will start to go forward with progress. I've got to get my butt into gear because there is a rumor of some of the board members stopping by this summer...heard anything about that?

I'm sure there is just as good of a chance for you to get the motor as there is for me to get the body. As soon as I see the pigs flying, I'll let you know.

Re: Got Rust?
Looks like you are still making progress though - good work.
It will be nice to see another Blazer out on the road in this area (NW Ohio / SE Michigan) once you get that all buttoned back up. |

Re: Got Rust?
I would love to - and I can bring my own beer if need be
The farthest I have been it the blazer is about 30 miles around the city of Toledo...no problems though...lots of honks, waves, etc. Looks better in pix, but it has some good points and bad points... It is Bouncy's old green blazer...now in Ohio. Last edited by lks dcvn; 01-16-2008 at 11:01 AM. |

Re: Got Rust?
You're all welcome to stop up any time. I always have beer on hand and most of the time I have enough for many people...just in case.

Are you going to have a MI cookout again this year?? We should hold the cookout one day, (let everyone get aquainted), then go to Silver Lake Sand Dunes the next day!!!! I wish I knew how to download video, I have my Jimmy on there breaking the front driveshaft on the bottom of Test Hill. OOPS!!! |

Re: Got Rust?
I'm in the Grand Rapids area. I was at the dunes Friday-Monday Labor day weekend. I stayed at the Yogi Bear camp ground, were you at that camp ground also? I remember seeing a Jimmy like yours there. I didn't have my Blazer there, just my truck. Here's a pic of it.
