With below zero temps most of the month, the thought has crossed my mind!

I haven't called, I have been in training, away from my desk, for the fourth week now. I will try and call this evening or tomorrow and see if there has been any progress.

Re: Who wantes to see 1973 dealer/promo DVD's?

OK, as luck would have it, they called me back while I was in training and left a voice mail. They have been converted and are ready for pickup. The cost was $361...about $14 cheaper than they quoted me, so we don't have any left over money to put towards the next run. Because of their weird business hours, and my normal work hours...I won't be able to pick then up until next Tuesday. Once I get them, I'll watch them to make sure everything is good. After that, I'll make copies and mail them out.

If we are all satisfied and want to convert Joes set...we'll have to do another donation round...but lets get this one wrapped up first.

Re: Who wants to see 1973 dealer/promo DVD's?

Aww geez fellas, you are too nice.

OK, here is the news...

I picked up the DVD this afternon, and watched it when I got home. I was told by the lady that converted these that I should not expect them to be high quality due to their age, format, and how they are converted...well she was right.

Everything is on there, but the picture, sound, and transfer are not all that great. It is definately watchable, and has TONS of cool things on there...but I am a little dissapointed. Another reason it didn't turn out as well as it could have was the fact that some of the tape was damaged by insects getting into them over time and causing some damage.

On the positive side, as I eluded to earlier, there is indeed some realy freakin cool things on there! Without going into too much detail, you will see a 72 and 73 Chevy truck on a road course chasing a Corvette of the same year(s). ALso, lots of woodgrain trucks in there (strange by todays standard, but I still like 'em).

Anyhow, I will get the DVD's made as soon as possible. It might take a few days, I am about to lose my Grandmother and have been spending a lot of time at the nursing home, running back and forth.

Thanks for your patince everyone!

PS - once you have viewed your DVD, let me know if we still want to proceed with converting Joes '79 set...as log as Joe is still OK with it. I think it will turn out better, my set was pretty rough...his looks perfect.

Re: Who wants to see 1973 dealer/promo DVD's?

Jeff, do what you have to do. I have made it 34 years without seeing this, so I don't think that will change anytime soon. Thanks again for going out of your way to convert these for us.

Re: Who wants to see 1973 dealer/promo DVD's?

Thanks for the update Jeff, Don't worry about how long it has taken. And, We knew there could be some quality issues from the get-go.

As long as I can make out a Chevy truck I'm happy !

Thanks Again.....

Re: Who wants to see 1973 dealer/promo DVD's?

OK, for those who paid via PAYPAL, I think I have you all squared away (except for Joe Warner, I still need your address).

If you paid by money order, PM me with your address. Dooley, I sent you a PM on this, I think you were the only one.

Also, is there a Rick Vance here that might have paid for a DVD? I did not get a screen name with payment, so i can't fiure out who you are and if the payment was for this. PM me please.
