I am one, I have a 502 with an Allison transmission in my 2001 shortbed 2500 HD, 10-12 MPG unless I pull and then it's more like 8-9 MPG, I love it, but it never met a gas pump that it did not like, that's why I commented, I used to put close to a hundred dollars in it every two or three days, I would have loved a straight 6....

I just bought a '68 LWB. The 6 is staying as it the 3sp and column shift.
Only thing I'd change is maybe a step side bed.

Granted a Cadillac 500 would be fun in there, but not at the expense of the column shifter.
