Re: Latest Obsession; 1972 2WD Blazer.

The blazer is coming along very nicely and is looking good! I hope to see you driving it by July! If not I will understand, I was shooting to drive mine by October but that is starting to look unrealistic.

Interesting Hood Mod...I like it.

I like the color also - should look great in the sunlight.

Do you have any pix of that color [or similar] in the light?

I would have to agree with you on the variation for the colors, it kills me to do it that way also.

Here's a couple pics of why this project is taking WAY too long; other stuff I've done for some local customers.

Re: Latest Obsession; 1972 2WD Blazer.

Well....slow and steady I guess. I got the inner doors painted and on, some dash assembly and the firewall insulation that I'll put on the floors under the carpet as well. Since I filled the holes in the "dog house", I ran the w/s squiter hoses through above the glove box using the factory gromet(minus one hole filled with dum-dum). Starting to think about gettin the motor together soon too.

Re: Latest Obsession; 1972 2WD Blazer.

Nice. Sure does look like the color Im painting the Crew, might be just a little more orange in yours

Now my CC is ready for paint on the exterior. Its even running, now I just need a driveshaft.

Re: Latest Obsession; 1972 2WD Blazer.

Man it seems time is harder to come by than money! I've got the motor together and in; no biggy just a stock rebuild with flat tops and a little warmer cam and vortec heads with adapters to fit old school valve covers.
Re-vamped the exhaust to fit tighter and replaced the Dynomax mufflers with Magnaflows.
Fit new Taiwan fenders; not too bad, little cut here, little cuss there....
It's back apart now, some final wiring, blast and paint the rad support then put some fluids and fire to it!

Great looking build!

What kind of adapters are you using on your heads,
And do they seem to work well.

Re: Latest Obsession; 1972 2WD Blazer.

It looks like I painted the heater box; nope, clean it up real nice then a light wipe with a towel sprayed with penetrating oil-brings back the color to brand new!

I don't really like painted heater boxes; prefer the factory "raw" look, but the "fuzzies" that show through looked kinda ragged, so I tried spraying some penetrating oil on a towel and wiping it down......looks brand new! Just gotta redo it now and then.(hoses too)

Hey Tony ...... Wow the hard work shows. Great color combo. Are those Torq Thrust II wheels and what sizes did you use front and back......Ed.

Yeah; TT 2's-17x8 & 17x9.5, not sure on back spacing. Tires are 275/60's and 255/60's; I like the height/width but am thinking about rear spacers though.

Congrats Tony on the truck, she is coming along nicely, wish I could say the same here, nothing but problems lately, oh well, figure it all out soon enough.

Re: Latest Obsession; 1972 2WD Blazer.

Some picking away here and there, not much picture worthy. I know I don't like the Magnaflow mufflers; too loud and WAY too rappy! Fenders are primed, inner painted and on, been looking at the hood and beat up top, hood's next I reckon. The pin on the brake prop valve is out and no amount of bleeding and pressure on it will bring it back in; might try a new prop valve. I'll post more pics as I make some headway;this years rainy season is about to turn white=more shop time.
