I agree! please post up some pix Stevie.

Re: Has Anyone Tried the $158 eBay Stainless Steel Headers?

I have a HEI Distributor from KJM, couldnt believe it when I opened the box. The only change I made was changing the gear on the shaft. I wanted to try the headers and tubular control arms but was scared to.

Re: Has Anyone Tried the $158 eBay Stainless Steel Headers?

stevieB, How do that fit up top around the frame and steering? Can you get a few pictures of that area?

I just looked on ebay, there is one vendor selling the chevelle shorty header in chrome for $99.99 plus $15 shipping...another lists a stainless version for $105 plus $30 shipping...

It fit really nice actually, a little close to the motor mount on the drivers side, but that is it.

I'll take some pictures of it.

Re: Has Anyone Tried the $158 eBay Stainless Steel Headers?

I just got mine in today. They came from Pro Auto Luxury on ebay.

They appear to be a good deal for the money. Came with the reducers, bolts (both collector and header flange bolts), and gaskets. The bolts are metric for the collector, but the header bolts are standard 3/8"-16 thread with a small 10mm hex head. The flanges are 0.370" think and ground flat on the mating surface. The welds are decent and most of the welds have been cleaned of the discolorating in the HAZ. The material looks to be stainless like the ad stated, but I do not think it is 304 stainless like it said. I believe the tubes and collectors are 409 stainless which is magnetic. The flange is also magnetic, but may be regular carbon steel, but I am just guessing at that (I'm saying that since there appears to be a clear coat of some sort on the flange). The flange was cut with a cnc plasma and the tubes are polished, but not show quality perfect. Over all I am pleased with them at this point. The passenger header fits well, but the driver side needs some mods to the frame bracket for the motor mount on my '65.

Here is everything that I got minus the passenger side header:

Detail of the flange:

Some of the discoloration at the collector:

There will be more pics in my build thread...

Does anyone see the truck headers anymore? I found these that are said to be corvette headers but they look pretty much the same. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tchlink:top:en

many exhaust compnets are made of 409 grade SS not 304 or 316 so a magnet WILL stick to it. crossy
