Nothing to report. I have been in Vancouver for the last week. I didn't even have a chance to mount the arms before I left.

Haven't had a whole lot of time. But I did manage to do a few things.

Blast and paint engine accessories.
Installed lower control arms, waiting on sleeves for the upper control arms. The PB arms are for 9/16" stud where the 1/2 ton truck uses a 1/2" stud.
Installed new CPP peer steering box.

Pulled the seats to recover them and generally overhaul the interior.

Got the front end of the motor assembled.

I used some high heat paint that was described as Cast Iron. I am pretty happy with the results. The booster was painted and the M/C is still raw. Pretty decent match.

I had one rusty upper control arm stud. Had a heck of a time trying to find a replacement. GM has discontinued them. ECE had one left in stock. They are extremely easy to deal with, in the future I will use them every time that I can. Once it gets here I can finally finish assembling the suspension.

I took my seats to a local guy to have him put the covers on as I just don't have the time. I dropped them off tonight at 6:30 and picked them up at 11:30. Excellent turn around. They turned out awesome. Here's a pic with them in place but without the brackets, still gotta paint them. I just couldn't wait to get a feel of what they would look like. The color isn't a perfect match but I like it.

My 10 year old niece is spending the weekend with us, so I did what every good uncle would do, I put her to work she's actually having quite a good time.

Seats are back in, I love it. It was well worth the work, and the cost.

Performed a few changes to the dash as well. The chrome ashtray was a pullout upholder, I never used it, the P.O. saved the original so I put it back in. Got rid of the 80's radio and put a factory AM radio in its place, new dash pad and dash bezel.

Things have been slowly coming together. Ran into a few problems.

When I decided to go with the PB control arms I never factored in the lack of a spring pocket which in turn raises the truck about two inches. More work

The CPP steering box has also caused me an issue. The reason I decided to go with CPP is that it was supposed to take the stock rag joint. I guess I missed the part where they said stock "style" rag joint. It actually takes a 30X3/4 spline. Which is for a GM car. The easiest solution was to steal a few parts from my DropMember project and buy another u-joint. It brings the cost up to a little over $800. For that kind of money I could've done a rack and pinion conversion! Oh well, live and learn. Here's the finished product. On the plus side, it is cleaner looking.

Front clip is finally on and the truck is running. I have a small list of things left to do and she'll be ready to cruise.

Adjust suspension
Wheel alignment
Tranny shop to set up the TV cable and install the lockup kit
Replace fuel inlet hose
Re-install hood, bumper and inner fenders
Wash wax and detail entire truck
DRIVE IT LIKE I STOLE IT!

If you havnt purchased one yet.... I would recomend the Lokar brand TV cable.

I went with a setup from Bowtie overdrives. It was recommended by another board member. It uses a GM cable with a few custom pieces for the carb. It's pretty slick actually. But thanks for the advice.
