Re: 69 K-10 Build for Dad
Dad came down this weekend, and my brother Dan came over to help, too.
Dan and Dad taking the front clip apart so we can get rid of the old core support. Cab is on! Got the new core support on, along with some of the AC stuff. Buttoned up some loose ends here Dan doing some wiring for the VHX dash Contemplating the best way to tackle the disassembly. Rolled it outside today and got some nice shots of it outside, since it's FINALLY starting to warm up here New carpet for it, from ACC. Vintage Air unit all installed and wired. New core support, battery box, etc. I also located where the 4x4 shifter needs to go, and cut the holes. Still need to install it, and adjust the linkage.

Great progress. Your dad has to be getting itchy to go for a cruise.

What kind of mileage are you expecting? I know the 2wds can do pretty well, but what about a lifted 67-72?

Nice work on the truck. Looks great! I noticed in post 35 that you don't have a tailgate handle and it appears that you did not use the standard relocation kit, unless I just missed it. Care to divulge any secrets!

Re: 69 K-10 Build for Dad
Been quite awhile since I posted an update...
Got the newer truck shifter installed. And then the seats put in I then welded bosses to the new aluminum radiator to mount the Dodge Intrepid electric fan to. Fits nice Random shot with my blazer in the background AC and heater hoses finished up ECM mounted Slapped the fenders and hood on quick to get them off the floor. Still need to align everything Got everything outside of the shop for spring cleaning Pulled the front diff cover to check everything out and change the oil Rebuilding the front hubs New bearings, studs, rotors...the parts store gave me 2wd calipers so I still need to exchange them yet.

Re: 69 K-10 Build for Dad
Well THAT was a pain in the azz...and I'm glad it's finally done.
Been poring over what to do about a fuel filler for months. Didn't really want to cut a hole externally in the bedside, but it needed to be fairly easy to get to. Here's what I ended up with... Decided to start with the inside fuel filler cover from a Blazer Then start cutting it up and get to work Found a nice vented boat filler neck with integrated cap, should work nicely. The only issue is that to get the angle of the neck right, the "GAS" reads upside down. I know that's going to drive my dad nuts....because it drives ME nuts....but it is what it is. I backpurged and TIG'd a stainless tube to allow for the flow to be as smooth as possible to the tank. It will also be durable, especially if it happens to come in contact with the bed supports that I plasma'd out. Finished product!
