Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
Finally got to the initial coats of body filler for my fender modifications and repairs...lots of sanding ahead for me...
Widened rear wheel tubs, plus welded up several holes the previous owner drilled in the originals...

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
well got my "correct" pre-bent trans cooler lines had to make some mods the trans inlet and outlet part of the lines went up facing the hood? anyone every hear of a rad that had the ports on the bottom? not sure how that would work as the rad sits on top of a crossmemeber with no cutouts for trans lines, unless that style of rad had no cooler and a seperate trans cooler was used from the factory.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
Weather finally warmed up enough to get a few things done. Dropped the back 2" with blocks from way2lo2. Now the front looks ridiculously high. Next step is to bring the front down with some new springs.
Also replaced the old ramhorn exhaust manifolds with some new block hugger headers. Reset the timing. Installed a new radio antenna.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
Do you need a cat on old trucks? I like the small rear window, and the truck looks nice. You need back up lights. I will be putting them on my 64. And are old trucks pollution tested? We have safety testing here in Texas.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
Hey gsr! Thank you.... I'm really wanting the big window... In Cali you don't have to have any smog pollution test on any car made before 1975.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
not exactly today, but is a snow day and actually taking the time to post...
just put c5 vette wheels on my 66; 17" front and 18" back; adapters/spacers 5x5 to 5x4.75 and 1 1/2" wide from flea bay... wheels (plus 2 extra front tires) $85 = good ol' CL adapters $125 change of look = priceless was running 15" buick gs rally wheels for past year; was ready for something different; vette wheels will prob go black once i need tires which won't be too long since my locker loves eating up those wide rear tires... thanks for looking, WAGZ

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
Since you already had 5 x 5 lug pattern it would have been easy to drill out the 4.75" lug pattern on the front hub and the rear axle.....would not need the adaptors.........FYI We had to do that to make my 17"s fit correctly, the adaptors made them too wide. Kieth

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
Put about 50 miles on the truck today just running around picking things up. First time it's been out of the garage in nearly a month. First the rewire project and then due to the miserable weather. Over the last couple of days it's gone from 6-8 degrees to almost 50! It is sure fun being behind the wheel compared to the boring practicality of a CRV.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
Drove mine to the Conroe swap meet looking for a deluxe heater control, no luck. I'll try again tomorrow when more vendors are there. 72 degrees and sunny, great day to be out and about in the 65.
