I have that lean too. Guess I know what to look for now. I had the seat covered about 15 years ago. It had the lean before and after. Sad.
Luv how this truck is coming together.

It could be broken springs on the bottom also. Upholstery shops only do the upholstery, they won’t touch anything else. It is sad. I found this out the hard way on my seat too. I was so upset about it, this is why I started restoring seats. I hate to see this happen to anyone.

Well, the seat cover showed up and with a little help from my beautiful wife, the seat cover is on and in!!! It looks and fits great! I’m still not happy that it took 5 weeks, but I digress.

Looks great!! Those are nice covers, aren’t they? I’m still waiting on my replacement.
Do you mind if I steal your pics of your seat? I like to have some, of them in the truck. But a lot of people never send any back to me, after they install the seat.

Yeah, the cover is a nice piece for sure. And, by all means, steal away

No, I don’t have floor mats yet. I’m digging your one piece floor mat... I guess that’ll be next TKCR, is yours black or smoke?

Rich84, I didn’t even know I had an issue until I popped the upper cover off. But in my defense, I only drove the truck one time from Georgia to home. Then I started in on the interior. Glad it was an easy’ish fix, especially with TKCR’s help.

My seat broke in the same place but, my speaker box butts up against the seat so, she holds strong till I find another daily driver and I can tear her down. Not looking forward to pulling that seat part to weld it up! LOL

Re: 1987 R10...aka Belushi

So I took it for the first drive since the day I drove it home...almost 2 months ago. Took it on a 20 mile round trip drive and filled it up while I was out. Had 2 older guys (I’m 50, so 60+) ask me questions about it at the gas station.

No weird suspension noises and it drives and rides great. The a/c belt seems to be slipping slightly when the compressor engages and the steering wheel is a little off center (but I only aligned it with a tape measure) and the speedo is a bit fast...or this thing loves 75-80 mph.

I’m going to check the rear gear ratio and the speedo gear to see if I can get it closer. Tighten or replace the a/c belt and check the charge on it and get an alignment. Then detail it one more time and drive the STEW out of it.

Thanks! Yeah, it’s the cleanest square I’ve had, and I’ve had quite a few

Re: 1987 R10...aka Belushi

Pulled the speedo gear housing and found out what’s going on. It has a 0.909 “reducer” on a 15/42 tooth combo. I have a 29” tall Tire & 3.73 (COOL!!!) gears, so The correct speedo gear is a 44 tooth, or a 0.95’ish reducer, so it was off twice. I ordered the new 44 tooth gear and the speedo should be fixed... NEXT?

After looking at the picture... I swear that I’m quite literate and capable of legible penmanship

Where’s it leaking from? I’m doing away with mine as it’s not needed with the correct speedo gear. What ratio is yours marked on the flat end?

Re: 1987 R10...aka Belushi

Since the in-cab fuel tank selection switch didn’t get the passenger tank setup working, I pulled the passenger tank and checked the pump & float. Both worked which tells me that the under cab tank selector switch was no good. Well, I pulled the cover off the selector switch to find it unplugged... #WTF# So, I’ll grab a new one on the way home from work on Monday. Maybe that’ll fix that issue #fingers crossed#

Re: 1987 R10...aka Belushi

Well, I replaced the tank switch valve. Put a few gallons of gas in the passenger side tank and fired it up...on the left tank and switched it. It died. I primed the r/s pump several times and hit it and it cranked and spit & sputtered but wouldn’t RuN. D@mn!!! So new pump assembly has been ordered.

Re: 1987 R10...aka Belushi

Thank you Amazon Prime! New pump & float assembly will be here tomorrow. I went ahead and pulled the tank and got everything ready for the new pump assembly install. Lot harder to pull the tank with 3 gallons of gas sloshing around in there

Re: 1987 R10...aka Belushi

The new Speedometer gear housing arrived this morning so I got that thrown in. Fuel pump assembly is out for delivery...so hopefully Belushi will be ready to drive again this afternoon.

Re: 1987 R10...aka Belushi

Speedo appears to be right on now

Passenger side fuel pump assembly is working like a champ along with the new Pollak valve, so winner there too.

So I took some pictures of it before taking it to fill the passenger side fuel tank.

Not much today, but I did vacuum the carpet and put the new Lloyd’s one piece floor mat it... I blame Tina (TKCR) for that

I also started detailing under the hood. I’ll get some pictures of that when I complete it.
