Gotta stay cool thats for sure!

Progress is great!! I've been looking at what I missed on your fb page, I feel like a little kid when I look at this project

You should know that I keep saying I'm going to leave my truck stock height or do a little drop but watching this, and seeing Cloud 9 reallllllly makes me want to lay frame!

Re: Slosh Tubz new company project "Square Peg" frame laying 1987 GMC Jimmy

verry nicely done
i think you can cut and shut youre original plasic coverpanels on the sides
you either need to lay them on top over wheelwells and cut them to size under the windows or cut out a rectangle in the top and move the bulge in the plastic up and glue everything together again to where you moved the steel innerfender
it looks like whats left under the wheelwhells is going to get covered by the seats themselves (that is if you make them wrap around the whells a little )
either that or get the carpet up a little higher than usual so it covers the part between the doorsil and benchseat

Re: Slosh Tubz new company project "Square Peg" frame laying 1987 GMC Jimmy

What do you guys think about this idea, I am thinking about cutting off some outside bed skins and welding them in on the inside ie. drivers side on pass side and pass side on drivers side ? I think I will try to get a piece and test fit it , It might look like crap I don't know just trying to do something different ? Any other ideas ?

Re: Slosh Tubz new company project "Square Peg" frame laying 1987 GMC Jimmy

It'd be cooler than plain, flat sheet metal and wouldn't require the bracing that the flat pieces would need but how much interior space are you going to loose? Trying to picture how far it would "kick" in. You're on the right track here and I'm sure you'll come up with something cool!

if you get those newer type bedskins sure that could be done
you might even use fenderflares instead

Mike, that sounds pretty cool. I think it will take up a LOT of space inside the bed though. I bet you'd have at least a foot of empty space between the inner and outer bedside. That would give you tons of space to hide things between them but if you plan on being able to cruise around with the family that rear seat is gonna have to be narrowed quite a bit. Not sure there'd be enough room for two people to sit on it.
I could easily be wrong but that's what I'm envisioning in my mind.
