Re: my 80 build
I decided I'm going to add a couple of leafs spring back to my truck, to give a little more rake since it seams like around every few months the back of my truck gets lower and lower

How much was it lowered or what lowering parts did you have on it at this stage?

Re: my 80 build
Looks like a 3 inch drop on the front. Drop shackles don't seem to do very much do they?
I'm guessing those are all 275/60s It's sitting like my truck is now, it makes me want to lean the seat back. Last edited by heavychevy79; 05-18-2009 at 03:16 AM. |

Re: my 80 build
the coil springs were a little weak so it was about a 3" drop, and yes the tires were 275/60s

Re: my 80 build

Re: my 80 build
the spedo's broke I was fixing the light on the back and dropped it on the ground and the tach sets at 1 grand with out power and when it has power it sets to 0, the gauges are good for the price just be careful with them they break easy

Re: my 80 build
i really love what you've done with your truck. i'm 17 and i've my 79 gmc for about a year and it's amazing how much i've learned from working on my truck. anyway, i noticed you decided to go with a summit heater and removed all the stock a/c crap. i did the exactly same thing a long time ago, and i love the clean look under the hood. but i haven't gotten around to installing the new heater yet, mostly because i'm having a hard time figuring out a good mounting position, and because i really just don't need right now...so i was curious of how you mounted and plumbed it, or if you are just putting it off like me
thanks, and the truck is really looking great |
