Re: Has Anyone Tried the $158 eBay Stainless Steel Headers?

I have them on my BB on my crewcab...they fit very well, but you do have to trim the frame a little on the pass side and I have to use STP oil filter because it is short and a long one hits the flange... They did yellow but for the price a very good product!

Re: Has Anyone Tried the $158 eBay Stainless Steel Headers?

Anyone have any updates on the durability of these things? I am getting ready to buy a set of the generic Summit headers but for $10 more if these work well I will grab a set. There seem to be plenty of options on ebay now so I am curious, I don't want to have to hack up my frame to make them fit though.

I hate to be a "Debbie Downer" here but, With headers you get what you pay for. If you don't care what they look like in a year or maybe are prone to leaks, get the cheap ones.

If you are proud of your engine compartment and want quiet exhaust, buy the good stuff.

$134.00 on eBay for coated full length headers??? CMON man....

There were people that had them and said they were decent quality, I just wanted a follow up to see how they were holding up. I agree usually if it's to good to be true it probably is but I am getting the $120 Summit racing long tubes if I don't get the ebay ones. I recently picked up an '86 C10 that had a 350 from a Camaro swapped in and the headers on it have some rust holes and I can't stand the leaks.

By no means is this a show truck, I got it to use for work around the house and the occasional furniture move so I am not looking to drop over $300 on a set of headers. By the way I saw your truck and that is my inspiration for the end result after I get the engine all squared away, great two tone and I already have the steel wheels with Dog dishes that I have redone.

Re: Has Anyone Tried the $158 eBay Stainless Steel Headers?

I've had ebay stainless longtubes on my truck for almost 10 years now. First 5 years it lived outside 24/7, was a daily driver and saw plenty of snow/salt. Last 5 years it's just been a garage queen. The stainless is discolored now but the headers are in as good of shape as the day I put them on and have never leaked.

Re: Has Anyone Tried the $158 eBay Stainless Steel Headers?

Expect the headers to turn black in a year. Had an "ebay" header on a Honda Accord years ago, the finish goes to crap real quick, had a tack welded on bracket snap off, and the flex pipe fell apart pretty quick as well. Car was a beater so I did weld it back together and put a new flex pipe in, but. You get what you pay for. I am betting if you bought these and then ceramic coated them they might stay nice for awhile.

Re: Has Anyone Tried the $158 eBay Stainless Steel Headers?

Thanks for the feedback, I think I am going to go with the ceramic coated Summit Racing longtubes. Hopefully for around $250 they will last me a while I just need to convince the wife to let me spend the extra $100.

I have the stainless ones 5+ years the fit was good no leaks just a little color in the high heat areas on the tubes
