Yeah at this point why not, what's an extra $1000 or $2000 in my case since I need a whole bed. Are you running a wood or steel floor. I'm going to be running a wood floor in mine.

Great looking parts you've gotten lately. Good idea on the bed I think you'll be happy with new. And can't go wrong with the wood

Thanks, I had my fill of fixing rust after the cab and doors. I just don't have the patience for it. I would much rather deal with new parts, plus everybody I talk to says how good the beds fit.

Thanks Al, I'll keep plugging away at it, I won't let this truck beat me

Keith, the only thing I've ran into with the SoKy bed is the tailgate rubs the rear of the bed floor when you open and close it. We are going to slot the hinges a little to gain some clearance. Just a little room will keep from skinning the paint when it's opened. Other than that, the buddy doing the painting was very happy with the fit.

Thanks for the update on the tailgate Jason, be sure to post up some pics on your build of what you do to get the tailgate to fit correctly. Doesn't sound like it will be hard to fix though.

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB

Huge day today, after 4 years of my truck taking up space in my brothers garage it is finally home in my garage. It's on now

All nestled in her new home for good

I was worried about having room for in my garage to work on it but after I got it in there I realized I have plenty of room

What's the story on the big fella in the background of those pics?

That's got to be a great feeling to not have to leave your house to work on your truck.

Thanks I'm very excited, hopefully I can get this thing together this year. I need some tools to work on it first my brother had every tool known to man, I don't even have an air compressor or air tools yet. That will change soon though.

Yeah it had been at my brothers for about 4 years. I lived in a condo until last September and didn't have a garage to work on it. Plus my brother lived like 40 minutes from me so I only worked on it on the weekends and sometimes only one day of the weekend.

If your asking about the squarebody, that is my nephews. It's got 8" of lift and 37's. Not bad for a 19 year old. Those pics are at my brothers house.

Yes it is, my wife is excited too because now I'll be home every weekend, but she wasn't so excited to lose her parking spot. Especially tonight after it snowed on her car

It was just easier to let my brother tow it, my truck doesn't have trailer brakes in it and I have never towed anything that big before. I didn't want my first time to be with that precious cargo back there

Congrats on getting it home. That's awesome! Be careful that you don't mess up and have your wife demand her parking spot back! Just kidding. Now get to work!
