Re: What parts aren't out there?
A Tach/Vac tin for the dash so I can install a second factory looking temp gauge for the tranny. I do not believe anyone is making this part.
A volt meter that looks just like the factory amp meter. Yea, I know, this is not a stamped part, but I want one.

Re: What parts aren't out there?
I think somebody oughta step up and fab some stainless steel ones. Plain, brushed, polished, done right they would last forever, no rust, no rivets to loosed...
I glass beaded my stockers, and rebuilt them. Worked good for about a month...a few lingering glass beads killed the metal to metal joints! Search continues,.... posted by metalmassfab ,,. .........and I second the motion !!! jim

Re: What parts aren't out there?
If someone has a decent set of stepside rear bumper brackets let me know what you need out of them (maybe swap for a part?) and I'll see if we can't get those done...seems like a "No-Brainer"

Re: What parts aren't out there?
Hey TriPro, please ask them to stamp the steel in a heavier gauge steel, that way when it rusts, it will take longer...
Just a thought..

Re: What parts aren't out there?
That's a pretty common misconception. The goal is to always make it exactly as the original unless it's intended to be a "Performance" part. On some of the gates and other parts we do pay licensing fees to GM to use trademarked logos and designs; this is how we can put "Chevrolet", "GMC", etc. on the parts. GM doesn't always accept the application for licensing (like on the '69-'70 grille frame) but this is normally due to them still offering the part themselves.

Re: What parts aren't out there?
How about the 3rd door for the Suburbans? While your at it, you can go ahead and make the 4th door too.

Re: What parts aren't out there?
that there is a fine idea. i think mine is just a piece of 1x4, but it should be corrected.
a 4th sub door would also rock! (i don't have a 'burb, but if i did, i'd want one.)

Re: What parts aren't out there?
I'll post pictures of some pieces next week. We do have some recent introductions ('67-'68 and '69-'72 dash and toe panels); and when I find out where I should post them I will.

Re: What parts aren't out there?
Ok...here's my thoughts.
It seems like about half of the cab is being repoduced now, this maybe from various vendors..(not sure on that one)..but it doesn't seem like it would be far from the range of work to produce a complete cab shell? Does it? Here's what I know if being reproduced now for the cab:
Why not take the extra steps and do a complete cab? Think about it...all the patch work time/money that could be saved!! Other thoughts are:
That's about all I can think of at this time.... Now, lets see some photos of those prototypes!

Re: What parts aren't out there?
Ok guys. We have at least one of the items your seem to be looking for. We have the "core support" patch. This will replace the rusted or corroted section of the core support right below the battery box. Here is a link to the part on our website.
http://www.brothersonlinestore.com/p...number=RSP72RH Be sure to also check out our "New Items" page for the newest parts available.

Re: What parts aren't out there?
Way to go, Brothers...that's good service! Now can you hurry up and get the other items we need that fast, too? LOL
I'll second the request for better inner rocker repair that has about 4" of outer floor included. We get calls for that continuously. |
