Yeah, you just have to cap off the original heater/air duct that went there. It works out well for a/c because driver and passenger get more air and heat.

Re: got a new truck!!!!

I made a little progress today. I finished up the fuel system, oil system, and the cooling system. I just need to tackle the electrical and the exhaust and my honey will be happy and on the road again. Here are a few pics

Re: got a new truck!!!!

Looks great. Did you use the donor trucks lower radiator hose too or the
c10s hose?

I'm not sure which hose i used because I have a tote full of lower hoses that I pulled it from. I had to cut about an inch to make it fit. I think it's from the donor truck though just not 100% sure.

Re: got a new truck!!!!

OK I've been hunting and gathering parts, but can't find any fittings to adapt the trans lines to the radiator. I saw that Bob used AN fittings. Is there a less expensive way?

Re: got a new truck!!!!

hey Ram, i tried looking for another route also but ended up back at 2 choices... an fittings or use hard line with a flare. you could also try just using a barbed fitting and clamps with high psi rubber hose but with the high pressure i'd just do it right for piece of mind. Bob was saying that the 4l80e trans spikes up over 350psi when in reverse so i ended up back at the -an fittings. i'm not sure what the 60e spikes up to. good luck bro!

Re: got a new truck!!!!

Dennis, my original intention was to flare them with a 3/8 tube nut but there are no 5/16 male to 3/8 female inverted adapters.

Re: got a new truck!!!!

tackled the harness today. i have to add relays and fuse box and I'm done with the harness. I wish i wasn't so frugal because i would definitely just send this type of work out. here are a few pics of the carnage. Pics are in chronological order from start to almost finished.Name: 2010-06-22 14.51.48.jpg

I did little things today. I cut the fan shroud and installed the filter, finished up the gauge cluster, and sanded and painted some surface rust on the frame.

Re: got a new truck!!!!

Thank you all for the compliments! I started it today, but i didn't have the O2 sensors in so i didnt run it long. I really enjoy these swaps! I made the O2 sensors using the connectors from the O2 sensors that i took out of the harness and universal Bosch sensors. Name: 2010-07-06 17.47.57.jpg
