Re: My 52 GMC Build

Shop update: Got the in floor heating system filled with fluid today. Took about 3 hrs to get it filled and air out but it will work. I put 40psi in the system and turned on the thermostat that turns the pump on and the water flow turns the heater turned on. I just don't have gas hooked up yet so it gave me a fault code, but it works. Gas should be next week.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Very cool! I need to think about getting my heater serviced and fired up. It's already been below 20 over night here 3-5 times. Winter might actually be winter this year?

I'm hoping. It feels half warm in there since the insulation.

It has gotten that cold here a few nights too, but have been sitting around 35-40* most days.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Shop update: We had another huge weekend in the shop. Called in some friends again and Saturday took us 10hrs but we got the dry wall up on the ceiling. Others where working on the walls. A few of us spent 6hrs and finished up the walls on Sunday. I feel like I got hit by a truck lol. But so happy.

Nice work. You'll love the OSB walls. It's nice to be able to hang something wherever you want! I painted mine with 2 coats of Behr paint, no primer underneath. I'll have to get the details off the buckets. Took 9 gallons total, and it covered very well.

Very cool! I was going to say, paint that plywood now! Because you will be amazed how fast you can't get to them and they will never get painted. Plus it will make it brighter in there too.

Ya my neighbor has a commercial airless sprayer I'll be using that. I'm also getting paint with his account.

It's very tempting to move stuff in but you are right it would never get done. also with the lights I am putting in should be like an operating room for vehicles.

I speak from experience. I never got my big bay painted at the shop I put up at my parent's place. My garage at home has dry wall but no one ever painted it. Well, I failed there too. Now it is good enough until we move.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Shop update:
Gas got hooked up yesterday so when I got home I got the heater turned on.
I have to start slow so I just went a few degrees above floor temperature to start. The thermostat is for in floor heat so it cycles on and off till it gets to it's set temp. Then this morning the floor had gotten to that new temp so I went up a few more degrees. So far so good.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Shop update:
Last night I bought 10gal of primer and 10gal of semi gloss paint. I borrowed my neighbors airless sprayer and went to town painting. Didn't even need a ladder with the nozzle extension. In just over an hour I sprayed the 10gal of primer then after dinner in about 1.5hrs I got the 10gal of semi on the walls. So nice and fast.
