Re: My 52 GMC Build
Thought I would show all my fun shop seats for hanging out. Everything is on casters so they can be moved out of the way.
Caravan couch. It can recline all the way and is still stable. Step stool/seat Movie theater seats And the racing office chair.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
So all last summer my hydro boost was leaking out the front seal, I just kept putting absorbant pads under it and toped up the fluid. So after a long search I found the right one for the right price. Bought a rebuilt one off amazon (no core charge) and a rebuild kit off ebay for $40 for the other one down the road.

I was wondering where you been hiding. I thought maybe you were buried up in snow. Hope all is well. Good score on the hydro boost.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
Yes sir!! My parts guy was $100 more than Amazon, and I get garage discount.
Ya I have been catching up with other projects that took a back burner when I was building the shop. Now back on the truck for some maintenance. Not much snow up here at all actually 1/2".

Re: My 52 GMC Build
Hydro boost is back on and hooked up need to bleed the system when I start it up. Also changed out a few of my ignition switches that started to give me some trouble.
My shop has just a few projects on the go.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
don't think your'e gonna get that tire on the jetta, but if you did.........new build thread, haha
when you bleed the hydroost, what I have found to be helpful is to run the return line into a jug instead of back to the reservoir. that way the air bubbles don't get back to the pump and cause them to be aerating the whole system plus the power steering system, plus any debris in the lines or coming back from the hydroboost (?) will be captured. of course you need a buddy to keep feeding fresh fluid to the reservoir (I use an old 1 gallon plastic jerry can with the lid adapted so it will accept a 3/4 hose, that way it is easy for the reservoir checker to tip some more in). I find doing power steering systems and hydroboost systems this way makes the job much faster because the fresh fluid doesn't get bubbles in it from the returning fluid line which is usually a lot of air at first. since the system is re-using the fluid the pump takes the returning bubbles, makes them smaller and redistributes them back into the system.so you are getting aerated fluid re-distributed to compound the problem. also, there is a pressure reserve cannister (engineered to give a reserve power brake application should you lose the pump from broken belt or stalled engine etc) in the hydroboost that can possibly get bubbles in it so it will take longer to purge that as well. it takes longer to get them out and you need to let it sit for awhile inbetween each set of "runs" to allow the air to settle out/escape, then do it all over again. sure, you use a couple extra quarts of fluid but if your system is clean to start you could capture it in a clean jug and possibly use it for something. just a thought |

Re: My 52 GMC Build
Well rear dually rims are painted to match the front and my son and I put them on.
Whoever thought of the playing cards around the rim for painting need a pat on the back. OOOHHHH YYAA that it what the truck needed!!!!! Then I put the truck on the hoist for the first time. Aired out it rests nicely on the hoist.
