Re: I'm one of you guys now

ok I see it now. I looked at one of the pics of it on an earlier page of the thread. Guess I just never paid that close of attention to it. It's really a shame it's not a 81 though. Since I have considered it we could practice on yours or mine, and then have it down when we did the other one!

Re: I'm one of you guys now

It is easier to go from '81-up to '80-down, than vice versa

we can do it....all it takes is money

Re: I'm one of you guys now

just for you John

as you can see, I got the cluster torn apart getting ready to clean it up and paint the inside white..

The needle on the tach broke and fell off, I tried to pick up the piece that fell and it just broke into several pieces, it is all white and looks like it has sat in the sun for years....I hope I will be able to remove the one from the fuel gauge in my other cluster and use it...any one have any tips on the removal?

pretty sad, huh?

Looks to me all I will need to change on my plug is the one wire for the fuel gauge, the other wire on the gauge is a common "hot". all the other gauges are in the same locations so that should be pretty simple.

Tomorrow I'm gonna pick up some of that plastic paint in white and see if I can get it painted.........

Oh and I guess I'm gonna need a new clear plastic lens, this one is broken, and the one in my truck has a hole in it for the clock

Re: I'm one of you guys now

Hey looks good actually cleaned up. I have an extra clear lens, and an extra gauge cluster if something happens to the needle on your cluster.

Beware another shameless plug up ahead. Hey here at Noble Hardware we have the white plastic paint too! Ask Travis there are good deals to be had here on paint!

Re: I'm one of you guys now

don't get too excited, my build is super slow
it didn't really start as a build thread, but has kinda morphed into one.......I should see if one of the mods will move it for me huh?

the tach cluster is a good find, I have to thank John, I think he wanted to cry when I came and got it j/k
next one we find is his

There are a few yards around that I need to go look in.

It's all good man! What Joe doesn't know is that the part was cheap, because it came with a fine print clause! You always have to read the fine print man!

Hey move here, and we'll even help you on your truck!
