Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window
After letting everything dry for a few minutes it was time for the candy over the orange. It made a huge difference. These pics show before the clear coat.

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window
I tried to capture some of the color changes in the paint, but I could not capture the true colors with my phone camera. Here are some examples with different lights on in the shop. The colors you can really see are gold, green, yellow, purple, blue, red, and of course orange. The ghost blue pearl in the clearcoat should give it a nice blue haze on the sharp edges in the sun. The pictures really do not show but gold and purple and that just does not do the truck justice. I will have to take some pics when the sun comes out, I have yet to see that myself and my bodyman said if it looks good under the lights wait till it's in the sun. Bottom line - 1 coat of sealer, 4 coats of orange, 4 coats of candy, 1 coat of ghost blue pearl, 2 coats of clear coat. That's 12 coats on it. D@MN!!!!!

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window
There is no way to explain this paint, it looks amazing in person. I will have to take a good camera over to the shop and get some good pics of it.

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window
Well paint is one thing, the engine is another! This guy still has not started on my engine but in the next six weeks I plan on seeing progress or completion on it. You still may be driving before me. I will get another couple of pics to post on Tuesday, it's supposed to be sunny out. Didn't even get a pic of rims with the inserts installed cause I was too carried away with the truck itself.

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window
I am going to finish my frame while the paint cures over the next couple of weeks. It will start going back together after some other things. Things like brake lines, fuel lines, air hoses, compressors, air tank all still need to be installed. Swing by whenever ya want, the shops always open......it feels like it anyways.

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window
Thanks! I saw it in the sun today (the cowl) for the first time, it looks really cool. Orange with blue pearl in it, then tilted it turns gold then green and yellow, but a little purple haze on the edges. Way different!

Looks good. You're going to have to get a pic in the sun. What buffing compound are you using?

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window
I am using alll 3M products. Finesse It, Finesse It Glaze, and Finesse It Finishing Polish. Sanding first with 1500 grit and stepping up to 2000. A pic with the sun below.

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window
Here are a couple of pics from this weekend, great weather! The paint looks wild in the sun, and the rims take on a whole new look with the inserts. The emblem was just kinda stuck there for the pic, it isn't installed yet. The tire size on the back is 255-30-ZR22 for people that have asked.

Thanks! I have 1 1/2 sets of the regular moldings. Out of those I may have four peices that are worthy for the truck. I plan on buying a new set a little later.
