I've had 2 slight setbacks. After confirming that a local glass shop could install glass in an old vehicle with a wrap around windshield, I drove it to them and left it for a day. Went to pick it up and they decided it was too difficult for them. Now I need to find a new glass installer.

I also sent my seat belts to a company called Safety Restore to have the webbing changed to grey and the buckle side extended a few inches. Received them back and one of the shoulder belts has an extra half twist in it. I need to return that to them.

I had help from my neighbor to put my window
Back in. ..butchers cord and a curved pick tool for pulling the rubber gaskets over the lip...we put the gasket on the window first .taped in place them with two suction cup tools carried it to the hood ..then placed top in first and pushed the button in ...it did take us a couple of hours but it did turn out good. ..needs to be a warm day if you are working outside

I have a few more pictures since it is drive able.

I had an ordeal getting the windows installed. The first place couldn't do it after telling them exactly what type of vehicle it was and that the windows needed to be roped in. The second place got them in, but my fixed rear quarter gaskets wouldn't work. I ordered the cheap ones and then had to go back and buy the expensive ones.

Just put the running boards on, but still need to adjust them. Also replaced a tie rod end along with the sway bar bushings.

I'm so glad to be driving it again!

I just read through your build and one word AWESOME, Love all the mods you did and to go with a diesel, it sucks about the first engine you had in there. I like the color combos you did. I know how much work all that is with my truck too. It's a lot of work without all the mods that you did.. my hats off to ya great work and it looks great...

I've started working on the air conditioner again. I installed a Vintage Air evaporator and heater years ago. The compressor (GM R4) has been in place since I installed the serpentine belt system. Whats left is the condenser, dryer, trinary switch, plumbing, and wiring. I installed the condenser yesterday and cut to fit all the hoses. I'll try to have a local shop crimp the hoses for me today. The condenser is the largest I could find at 16"x28.5". The compressor is the same one used on a 95 Suburban with front and rear air. I'm leaving the possibility of adding rear air in the future with this setup.

The 2nd and 3rd picture shows the mock up for hose lengths. The last picture shows the condenser installed.

This is a great truck! Diggin the diesel and the color . I see that you have the stock master. How is that with the extra weight of the diesel engine?

The master cylinder and hydro boost work fine. They actually came out of the diesel donor vehicle. I have thought about adding rear disk brakes in a future project.

I finished the installation. On Friday I'll drop it off at the AC shop and have them vacuum, charge, and check for leaks. Assuming it works! I'm leaving the grill out to allow easy access to the fittings and trinary switch during testing.

Someone asked for the dimensions of the plates I used on my rear hatch. This was detailed in an earlier post on this thread. I would use a lighter cylinder if I did it again.

Installed my headliner. I debated for years on how I would do this. Used Rattletrap first then foam backed vinyl with spray adhesive. Sprayed each side with 3 coats and let set 7 minutes. Tucked the edges of the vinyl under the edges. Looks good, hope it all stays up!

I bought it from Great Lakes Skipper. They are a marine store.

Built a stainless steel spare tire mount that bolts to the driver's side behind the rear wheel. A lot of measuring since everything was angled. I took the idea from a pickup bed mount that I've seen.

Here is a drawing of the rear hatch bracket on the bottom for the hydraulic lift. I've had a few requests for it. It does not need to be very precise.

I finally got tired of our crappy stock wipers and wiper arms and wanted something better. I picked up some Bosch 13" blades, Trico 51-151 (except I think they are Anco 4102 in a Trico box), and some Mighty Clear 42630 wiper arms for the J-hook part. I cut the J-hook down to 2.5" long and replaced the bayonet piece on the Trico arms with it. I used a dremel tool to widen the gray plastic adjuster, epoxied it in place and drilled and tapped the j-hook. Now I have the standard j-hook connector that you can attach any common 13" wiper to.

A few more pics. I'm happy with the function. I do think they would look better if the arm was one piece stainless, but that would be a lot of work!
