Re: Daverods project 66
I would flat clear the whole thing for durability and shiny clear the flames. Did I just invent he term "shiny clear"? I think I coined a phrase. Anyway, you won't be able to color sand or buff the flat clear because it will start to get shiny, so your not getting yourself into a bunch more work. Do a test. It's the only way to see before pulling the trigger. Oh, it's about the time of year where I mention how cold it's getting down here in Vegas. This is where you give me **** and imply that I'm a puss.

Re: Daverods project 66
I did notice it warmer here at night then in Florida. I kinda like the cold. It's better then heat. You can always just put on more clothes. I think I would miss the snow. I like to sled and snow board too much. Maybe when I'm an old #uck I'll think different. Sorry Strodder. I think I need to do some paint testing.

Re: Daverods project 66
I would spray a flat clear. It will fade and start to look chaulky if you dont. Oh and I through in some wire loom in with the harness.

Re: Daverods project 66
I'm not sure, but I think that the Hod Rod Flatz should be ok. I'm not a fan of flat myself, but as long as you use a paint that is made to take the elements and has UV protection it should be fine. Like I said I like shiny, but diversity is what makes our hobby great. Great build, keep up the good work. Also your local paint supplier should be able to answer any questions you have.

Re: Daverods project 66
I think the Hot Rod Flatz is made not to be cleared. It says its sealed. If I was going to clear it why not just use normal paint that can be sanded and then clear it. I'm not to worried about it fading or chalking. I am worried about how tough it is. I want to do a test piece and then rub on it to see how much it can take.

Re: Daverods project 66
I wonder if that's Bonnie floating in the pool. Oh and your welcome for the Pampers. I figured you might need some. I found some wires that go to the head lights. Didn't know they were still on the front clip. I'll get them in the mail to ya.

Re: Daverods project 66
We bought the house for 305,000 tons, and 19 months later we sold it for 500,000 tons. Who says you lose when you go to Vegas.

It snowed here today. Flurries mostly, but I guess it counts for Vegas snow.

Re: Daverods project 66
Put my bed back on by myself. Well, the dog tried to help. Made a shifter knob. Now if the snow would melt I could go test out my new notches. Thinking about putting a rear sway bar and moving my rear shocks.

Re: Daverods project 66
Dave do you have a switch for each bag? If you do you don't need a sway bar.

Re: Daverods project 66
I Like the shifter . What happened to the shingle hatchet you had for a while as a shifter???
I built a Shifter knob from a brass door knob once , Poured it full of lead and then drilled and tapped it . .. Worked good and looked cool but it was always too darn COLD in the winter when you had to shift ! I took it off and went to a 8-Ball The plastic felt warmer..

Re: Daverods project 66
I got the accuair for my 66. I was thinking about the sway bar for my 64. It just has jeep springs for now. If I put bags on my 64 no compressor do you think I would need a rear sway bar?
