It is not going to get a ton of miles on it, but I am now all the way up to 500 in 4 months since being done. I am planning on making it out to Southern California for the Brothers show in late June. Maybe others are going too? Would love to drive with a few guys from AZ that have a similar interest. No trailer, no cruise control, no fuel injection, just ripping across the desert like I used to

Get with Dunenutt, or search Dino Battalina. Call him at Dino's appliance repair in Phoenix. There's a crew of c-10 club guys on here that do it every year. They ususally get a thread going about it in the Southwest forum about now. I believe they have their own header in the club/southewst forums. Good dudes.

Low Elco, thanks for the lead. I need to get with at least a small group to cross the desert in an old truck. It sure would be comforting for all of us to know that they might have a helping hand if something goes wrong. Realistically, this Blazer is as good as a new Chevy off the lot, but you never know...

Had the interior done at Stitch'n by Steve in Queen Creek. He did a fantastic job at a very reasonable rate. Good guy too

Sorry for ignoring the request for interior pics. I have been pretty consumed with figuring out a vibration that existed at speeds above 62. I finally traced it down to a bad driveshaft after having it initially rebuilt, re-balanced by the same shop, balanced again by another shop, and then finally just re-made not using any of the original parts - even though they were all brand new. I was so happy to get it figured out, I drove it home in the rain! Yes, I broke that cherry.

Thanks guys. I did not make it to the Brothers show. I had it on my calendar for over 7 months, but the vibration just took too long to get handled and put me too much in crunch time to make sure it would be road worthy (This blazer will not see time on a trailer unless it breaks). Crossing the desert between Phoenix and Los Angeles at the end of June is no picnic. It is really a test of any vehicle, especially an old one just rebuilt. I did just cruise down to a small little gathering at a local So-Cal shop in Phoenix this past weekend though. Not quite the same, but it will have to do for now.

Not trying to ignore anyone here - just a lot going on with work and play lately.

Low Elco - running great, but just not too motivated to drive it when it is so stinkin hot still. No window film on purpose makes it an oven during an AZ summer day.

AZK5 - I appreciate the thoughts - especially if you have seen it in person. Thanks for the nice comment. I know I still need a driver side sill piece that I have not looked too hard for. Maybe I can message you direct?

mcmlxix - keep me posted. A Vegas run in the Spring time would be an easy weekend for me and my wife to cruise up and enjoy.

The Blazer will be getting EFI via a Holley multi-port set-up before the Spring passes. I just started working with my brother at his speed shop in AZ and there are just too many neat things about EFI to keep mine carbureted.

I really appreciate that kind of comment. Attention to every little detail was the main thing I kept telling myself would make a huge difference in how much I would appreciate it when it was done. I spent a considerable amount of time on things that will go unnoticed to nearly everyone except me. If you're gonna do it, might as well do it right.

Thanks LowElco. I just listened to it myself last night with my family. Very neat experience to get the Blazer out and enjoy it with my wife. It took a lot of hours - nights, weekends and even some vacation days from work to complete it. Really proud it was received the way it was. If you compare mine to most other builds of today, it is an OLSCUUL kind of build with 17/18" wheels, static drop and a carburetor. It is just the way I would have done it when I was in high school if I had the time and the money.
