Re: PO has me PO'd
Post 129 shows the head unit
post 214, if you look at the wiring above the wiper area, you can see the antenna post 222, you can see it as well post 263, you can see it on the cowel. Its magnet mount, so it moves around whenever I want. Its more towards the vents in this shot. But its also the first one that shows with the cowel on. post 307, right picture, shows it as well. But this one it might be mistaken for the vents. All these, I know what I have n what to look for. Since you dont know what I have exactly, your not sure what to look for. But its magnet mount, about 1/2" tall, 2" round. |

I have read this build from start to finish twice now and just wow you have gone through a lot to get to this point, a lot of people wouldn't have the perseverance to come this far, nice work.

Re: PO has me PO'd
Congratulations on early retirement.
The great part is you can do auto restoration part time at home and probably make as much money as you were making at your job working full time |

Re: PO has me PO'd
Thanks Brian...tried that before, didnt work out. What i would like to do is restore and sell, get rid of the owner, but that said, it will take up alot of time. Which i plan to allocate very wisely

Re: PO has me PO'd
OK, back onto the topic of the build.....
Wiring harness is starting to come together, after ripping out the cable for the crank trigger from the XFI and moving it over to the XIM, cleaner install, as the shielded cable has the correct connecter for the crank trigger Started to make my fuse and relay mounting board 20141017_121605 by [url=https://www.flickr.com/people/97391199@N06/

Re: PO has me PO'd
Got further along on the harnesses, 12v+, grounds- done. 12v+ switched are next in line....
Fuses and relays done 3 wires unknown STEP STEP1 STEP2 FLASH Harness going through the heater control space is all for the engine, and accounted for. 20141028_135427 by

Re: PO has me PO'd
Repinned the cam/hall effect, it was on the engine side of the firewall grommet, couldn t pull the large connecter through the grommet, so i just cut the wires and ordered the pins from FAST. Left all the colored wires in place on the connecter, and replaced one by one, so i did not get confused
One less bundle of wires [url=https://www.flickr.com/photos/97391199@N06/15477453050/] [url=https://www.flickr.com/photos/97391199@N06

Re: PO has me PO'd
I like to hold the pin in the crimpers with slight pressure, then insert stripped wire, it seems to give you better control and alignment of pin, so the crimp goes right. I also do a pre crimp of one letter size smaller, just enough to hold in place, then come back and do the final crimp for tightness
Don t forget to put your seal on the wire before crimping pin. That s where the second crimp comes in, i use a letter 'B' crimp for the seal and a letter 'E' for the pin, but your crimping tool may be differant [url=https://www.flickr.com/photos/97391199@N06/15477453060/

Now that you re back in Texas, are you going to have time for your build... Finally recieved all my adapters for the E dash, so, i can finalize the install that part. Wierd that they were not part of the original shipment Broke my fav. pin tool, so i ordered two, but it stops work till it gets here. Plus, when i ordered pins from FAST i was able to cross referance part numbers and order 50 or 100 from Waytech, much cheaper....

Re: PO has me PO'd
Found a new product that i was not aware of.....it s a split cable wrap @ wirecare.com, but unlike the convulated split cable wrap it appears to be a woven wrap when installed. Available in a variety of sizes....also has a tight bend radius without coming apart
BUT, you don t have to unpin your connecters to slide a woven loom on the wires, then install seals and recimp pins JMHO, but this stuff is slick, will clean up your bundles of wires in a fraction of time. Sorta sounds like a info merical....check it out! You can see it installed on my e-dash cable [url=https://www.flickr.com/photos/97391199@N
