New Truck Questions
Well we picked up another c10 to replace my sons stolen truck, no word, the polce believe its proably in pieces some where and the chances of finding it are pretty slim. So we picked up and 80 c10, but I have some questions that I hope you can help me with, were having to put this truck back together since its in parts.
The fender badges call it a scottsdale, I thought that was availible in the longbed only, so have the fenders been replaced at some time? And since it is an 80, w/ a 350, did it come with a EGR Valve? It has an edlebrock manifold on it now, and the catalytic converter was also cut out, I know I'll need to replace the cat, but will a egr vavle be needed to pass emissions? We are also looking for new front and inner fenders , radiator support, radiator, headlight buckets, hood to start out with, this should allow us to get it back on the street, and has anyone replced the hinge pins, how difficult was it to do? So if you know where any of these items are around phoenix, please eamail me. And last but not least, since we have to repaint the truck after the bodywork, what suggestions would you make for color? Thanks alot. Tom

If you're doing body work and are not 120% sure there are no imperfections ...don't paint it black...trust me

Tom, on the radiator support there might be an emissions sticker. If that sticker shows the egr then you will need it. If you dont have that sticker you will need to contact an emission test center and provide them with your vin number, vehicle make, model, and year. From that info they should be able to provide you with a list of required emissions equipment.
If I were you I would contact at least two of them and try to get them to fax it to you. You might get different lists from them.

Thanks Eddie, I'll try that, I'd like to get it through in one pass, yeah right. I picked this one up in you neck of the woods, dunlap & 35 ave. We pretty much tore the front end down sunday and I'm trying to get as many oem parts as we can.
I'll try to have some pics of it tomorrow. Gibble, it is suppose to close to 100% today, we try to avoid any dark colors at all cost out here, but thanks for the tip. Tom

Hey dude, does it have the high trim front end? (square headlights)
If you need the bezels, I've got a line on a pair up here, but the signal light cover on one side is smashed, and the other side is cracked.

No Russle, their round. You know I think I need to see a pic of a 80 w/ round headlights, anyone got one?
But what about the scottsdale emblems, were they not just for lwb's?

Tom-
as far as scottsdales and the LWB that shouldnt matter as a i had a 78 scottsdale that was a shortbed.i think the other tom on the board 78 is a scottsdale too and its a shortbed.if your needing some body parts quick for your truck i just happen to have a hood, set of fenders that need some repair work-there not rusty or anything they just have some minor dents and such-there off of a 77 GMC,i also have a core support that is in pretty good shape,i have some inner fenders that are in ok shape-i dont have any headlight buckets for an 80 though.if your interested let me know-pm me,answer back here or you can call me at 480-430-8235.
